Financial Fair Play (FFP)

I might have missed something but, apparently, it is an automatic 3 points without question for a breach. Did anyone know about this rule yesterday or is it something that was made up this morning?

Well his gamble worked out last season, if we had't invested in January we would have been playing Championship football this season. We should have gotten enough points already this season to make the 4 point penalty irrelevant, but we haven't. As you say there's 9 games for us to make it irrelevant now.
It shouldn't have come down to selling Johnson at the last minute or beyond

The bad decisions mounted up long before that with the spending spree to replace the on loan squad we'd lost. I know he had to buy players but there was plenty of fat in there that should never have been bought.

No comments allowed on that article, sadly. Don't agree with some of it.

Don't worry, Ubik; the LTLF Grauniad contingent will be along shortly to praise its wisdom and insight.

Until they realise Barney Ronay is a Millwall fan . . . at which point they will take themself off for a hate wank and feel ashamed of themselves until next Tuesday.

Bunch of f***ing Premier League bootlickers at the Guardian. They all know which side their bread’s buttered. In my humble opinion.

That’s pretty much the case with any media outlet you choose to name.

Can’t we sue the premier league for hiring incompetent refs? If a hospital hired incompetent surgeons they’d get sued into next week.

I wish

If we could have Sam Allison or Jared Gillett for the rest of the season i'd be over the moon

I'm nearly sure that came out of the Everton appeal commission, and has been used as a benchmark for ours. Breach? = automatic 3 points

Allow me then to be the first to praise the Grauniad's wisdom and insight.

And post thanks for every Marina Hyde article ever written.

(Don't give a f*** which team Barney Ronay supports.)

Still read the Guardian in preference to the rest of the newspaper world, but they increasingly try my patience.

Don’t worry, there’s still the Daily‘s Mail and Telegraph for you, or the Lee Anderson show on GB News.

If you want unscrupulous honest journalism, there you go, fill your boots.

A mate who's also into his seventies gave me this book for Christmas:

James O'Brien - How they broke Britain

One of the most depressing things I've read in ages - still ploughing through it, and I realise he has his own agenda and I'm sure can be criticised, but along with Toffs (can't remember who by) it really demolishes the current Tory crew and their predecessors for the last few years.

It’s a depressing read, but a really good book. And it brings to account many of those who managed to completely hoodwink large chunks of the British populace for the last decade or two.

Maybe Barney Ronay should have stuck to writing for When Saturday Comes?

I mean, everybody loves WSC.

(Including me, as I’ve subscribed to it for over 25 years).

Nope.

You seem to be making the assumption that I'm a Daily Mail/Telegraph reader/Lee Anderson enthusiast because I call the Guardian a left wing rag . . . . yet I'd call the Mail a right wing rag in the same breath.

But, than again, you're a socialist; easily offended and quick to jump to conclusions. Go fill your own boots. . . . and enjoy your wank.

There's some truly shocking stuff which I didn't know - the guy who blew the whistle on Vote Leave breaking the rules on campaign funds - he'd joined them as a young, naive immigrant from Pakistan and when he blew the whistle they outed him as gay.

And the stuff about Farage being such an out Nazi at prep school - why had I never heard that before?
