Financial Fair Play (FFP)

Mr RayReardon

Assuming we stay up, I've read that we're due to breach again next year unless we sell some players by 30 June, is that true? Can someone break the numbers down for me please.

I make it that the £47.5m for Johnson and the £25m(?) for Mangala will be in play next year, and we'll have £20m more in allowable losses after spending another year in the PL. Surely that will see us through OK?

I think it will... and sod selling Murillo or Gibbs White. Take another paltry punishment if we have to. Those two are worth far more than 4pts.

Bear in mind, if we're penalised next year, Man City and Chelsea will also be in the firing line. The Prem, of course, won't touch either of them so we, and other clubs, can ride on their fraudulent coat tails. It does beg the question though, if they fail hold Man City accountable - surely the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal will be contemplating legal action. That's not something the Prem can withstand.

If you genuinely think Man City or Chelsea will ever be properly punished for their financial doping, I’ve got a bridge I’d like to sell you.

Kieran Maguire on that football insider suggesting Forest could win back 2 points.
I would take anything Kieran says pinch of salt. Before the commission finding was released he thought we might cut a deal to avoid an appeal.

I love what he does from an insight into the material facts of football finances and he presents it in an accessible way but he's not up to much when it comes to guessing games.

How many journalists have gone through the entire list of possibilities at this point. Confirmation today! Oh wait it might be tomorrow, or the day after. Anyway you might get one point back, or possibly 2 points back but it could also be no points back

Total waste of time, suppose it pays their bills though

Wonder if he should stick to what he's best at? His opinion seems to hold a bit of weight these days so sticking to the financial analysis might be better than the kind of speculation that Pete O'Rourke might report Pete O'Rourke said.

In the last 24 hours Pete O'Rourke has said Murillo set to leave, Gibbs White set to leave and Wood is set to leave. How do they actually make any money off that awful site

Kieran Maguire on that football insider suggesting Forest could win back 2 points.
The way that the first penalty was issued was:
3 points for breaching PSR, plus 3 points for the size of the breach minus 2 points for owning up to the breach and being cooperative.

Forest have (afaik) appealed the size of breach penalty - contesting that promotion bonuses and EFL Covid losses should be deductible.

Therefore we can only get 3 points returned with potential the possibility of losing our cooperation rebate of 2 points.

So anything other than a return of 3 points, 1 point or an additional 2 point penalty shows that they are making it up as they go along.

Reading his interview he doesn’t think it will happen - he just says if anyone can get us points back it’s Nick de Marco.

I think Maguire would be astonished - as I would - if we get any points back

Thing is with Maguire is that he claims our entire case is around the timing of the BJ transfer, which I'm not sure is correct is it?
