Financial Fair Play (FFP)

This is absurd. The lawyers are going to be deducting and appealing the decisions after the season has ended.

Yet they got a point back for being well behaved and co-operating with the PL.

Despite two breaches already and a potential third to follow.

I expect 1 point back minimum. You can't have a different start point for a significant breach it is either 6 or it is 5.

It's frankly incomprehensible. This should can the whole thing, it's nonsense. Give all the points back to us and Everton, admit the whole thing isn't fit for purpose and then come up with a proper system that people can understand. It's an embarrassment to "the best league in the world".
Summed up perfectly.

Thing is, I don't even want Everton to get points off because it helps us, I just want the entire thing to be abolished, they didn't know what they were doing when the issued the 9 points initially to Everton, and now they still done. Its utterly ridiculous.

Yes, exactly. I’m not celebrating this latest twist, nor do I know any Forest who are. The whole thing is completely absurd and an absolute embarrassment to all involved. It has got to the stage where is is barely worth playing the final games as the points rewarded are meaningless.

Us and Everton will be the benchmark for how not to do it, hopefully it wont cost either team a relegation.

Its an absolute joke from start to finish.

I still think we will get a point or two back based simply on the fact that Everton did. Yes completely different cases but they won't want to relegate us instead of Luton. Plus deal with the big man.

Hopefully.

So Everton took off 6.5m from 2021/22 which they were already punished for and agreed that was the loss in the end , Now the PL are looking at figures over the whole period and the breach could actually be around 35-40m as another 11.7m is getting looked at aswell.

In respect of the differentials...my take fwiw.

*Promotion Bonuses are excluded in the EFL because how can they not be. However when Promoted they are not presumably due to the spike in income..ergo Bournemouth and Fulham should also have them readded to the FFP calculations.
*Debt Writeoffs are surely not reducing losses at EFL level, whereas at PL level they might be- in addition, there was an EFL case in which Cardiff were embargoed in 2016 despite claiming a debt Writeoff made them compliant. Not so much a case but the EFL weren't having it.

Therefore had Nottingham Forest stayed down..
*-£3m in the 2 Covid years removed the debt Writeoff and becomes -£8m.
*The stated £40m in 2021-22 becomes -£20m as you do exclude Promotion Bonuses.

The 8-9m of debated Covid losses seems to have changed over time. Which makes calculating the 3 Year Rule problematic yet if those Covid losses have changed over time then Fulham's high level of Riverside stand should be challenged, reviewed etc and Fulham referred to a Disciplinary to adjudicate.
I really appreciate your taking the time to discuss these matters here, even though it's all way over my head.

Starting to get pretty irritated by the way this is always reported as “Premier League clubs are allowed to make a maximum loss of £105m over three years before being charged”.

Except it’s not that is it? It should be reported as “Premier League club’s accountants need to get away with fudging all the losses clubs have made over £105m otherwise they’ll be charged, because half of them have made losses well over £105m.”
