I'd be happy to see him back. Good player, and with us working on a tight budget I think another loan deal would suit us nicely.

Would like to know the loan fee.. out of contract next summer, so can imagine its cheap, because from jan he can sign a pre contract in a free

By all accounts it has been said EM is ready to spend again, but the point is still a valid one - as the money saved here, which we have pretty much sorted a position for free with johnson/carvalho coming in as well - can be spent elsewhere.

EM has always been willing to spend, but we are restricted by FFP still so I doubt we'll be spending much this summer, even after the inevitable annual big sale of a player.

I think loans and low cost signings from the lower leagues/Scotland/abroad will make up the majority of our business. Krovinovic would be a good start, as you say him coming back here on loan (along with Johnson and perhaps Carvalho returning) would pretty much sort one position at minimal cost.

I would doubt that Krovinovic will be going out on loan; he is in the last year of his contract, which means he leaves for nothing once his loan is up.

What it does mean is he will be available on a cut price deal.

I would have to see the stats of how many chances Krovi has created as to whether I would want him back. I cant tell the if the lack of assists is his passing or our others finishing.

I know its not all about stats but without stats when I watch him he dosent look clinical in anything he does but if he is getting numbers of chances created he could be good to get back in.

1.04 xA in 19 starts. Pretty poor.

That said, we are hopeless at getting the ball into good areas for a no.10 to play in.

Cut price or not,it'll still be a few million. Not worth it as his output for goals and assists are poor. A loan without paying much is the best deal.

Useful versatile player, I’d have no issue seeing him back at Forest.

Aye. Ideally I'd like better, but Hughton's not gonna have an AK budget to work with unfortunately.

Next year is all about mid-table and giving Hughton a proper chance to rebalance the squad. There's no need for us to break the bank for anyone better tbh.

I agree. Get some decent young lads in (via recruitment and the academy) and give them (and the manager) a year without the expectation of needing a top 6 finish whilst we clear the deadwood. If we do that, we'll be in a healthier position in 12 months time.

Eez not bad. Probably need better, but we cant keep saying that. He needs to build a TEAM.

Hoots has to get by hook or crook the best out of every team he sends out next season.

He'll be targeting at least twenty odd 1 nil victories, throw a dozen draws in and we're cooking.

U Reds !

I just think it's a lazy criticism to moan about his numbers and not want him back for that alone. He was our best player for a good few months and we looked lost whenever he didn't play. Him as that #10 is a good link man, and would be another good option.

We all want him to add more goals and assists but doesn't that go for everybody in the team last season.

His shooting was abysmal last year from general observation and I cant deny he was a very tidy link player. Something needs to be done though about numbers somewhere in the team.

I mean people like Ameobi, Krovi, Yates and Cafu for example but put them in one team you will have a very poor outfit. If Krovi comes in I would expect better players to play with him for us to do anything.

Looking at amount of shots we are 6th highest on the list however our shot percentage was 43% outside of the box one of the highest in the division.

I think I am just scarred because we seem to as a fan base like players who dont produce for us. I know some fans who would think its a decent side if we played Yates, Cafu, Krovi and Ameobi than wonder why we dont score many.

Yup. Should have happened under Warbs, but several years trying the instantaneous approach has ironically taken us back to that situation.

Now we don't have as many young players to sell off, it might be to our benefit that we're forced to build rather than buy instead.

That is a good point, the problem we have is too many players are like Krovi and some fans are ready with excuses for them. I dont know with Krovi really however we really need to start having doers instead of tryers.

Been frustrated for many a year now with our midfielders, they go into cold turkey near the goal.

McGugan and Majweski knew where the net was.

Bring um back !

McGugan's probably one of the most undervalued players in recent times IMO. Definitely not a player who suited playing week in week out, but the good manages who knew how to use him right also knew that they had a genuine match winner on their hands, who could beat any team in this division single handedly on his day with goals from nowhere.

Mcgugan also single handedly ruined his own career at what 28? When he could be bothered he was a fantastic player but he didn't care enough to try which is why he pretty much retired at 28ish.

Lewis McGugan was a Player I loved watching, because on his day - when he could be bothered - he could beat anyone.

When Forest were in League One, there were games he won on his own - I remember a dreadful away visit to Hartlepool, it was f***ing freezing and McGugan ran the game from midfield and scored the only goal.

When he wanted to, he could turn it on, but he needed a Manager behind him, frankly, kicking him up the arse.

The Scottish Manager got him going, got him fit, kept his weight down and made him play, freeing him from much defensive responsibilities and letting him go and attack teams. When he was allowed to coast - and too many managers let him do that - he looked like he couldn’t be bothered.

A pity, as there was a real player there, I’ve often thought he could have played at the level above the Championship, such were his physical and technical gifts, that when he really fancied it, he could be a match-winner.

Depends what the goal for this season is, if it's the top six then we'll need someone better.
If it's the top sixteen, he'd do.

Great summary Chris.

I hope we're able to find a bit of a wildcard goalscorer pre-season. Sammy's probably the closet we've got, but his second season here has been disappointing.

Well we had the 6th most shots at goal and the 22nd lowest on target, with us being nearly last in goals.

I think that's enough evidence as to where the problems are
