Favourite away trip in England(excluding Wembley)

I’m sure there will be many memories from different decades.
My personal favourite is the 1988 FA Cup quarter final win at Highbury.
Number 1 is Brian Rice!

The 4-0 win at Old Trafford in the season we won the League - just before Christmas as I recall.
I remember the noise in the first 5 minutes - particularly when their winger ( nicknamed Wizard but can’t remember his name ) got the ball - was deafening.
And our gradual takeover of all stadium chanting as we battered em for 90 minutes.
A day that will live long in the memory…

Sadly, one of the very few games I missed that season-I think everyone realised Forest had a real chance after
that.

The same as Red Robbo....Manchester United 0 - 4 Forest, December 1977.

Which just edges seeing our last victory at Anfield, 0 - 2 (Barry Lyons both), early 1969.

Villa Park, West Ham match. I would've only been 14 and first proper big away day. From what I recall there was just a set of steps and netting separating the two sets of fans. Inflatables bouncing between the two over the netting.

3-2 win over Man City at Maine Road in the late 90s. Van Hooijdonk with a brace and Kev Campbell putting us 3 up. Won 3-2 in the end. Proper away day.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
My first away trip was the Hillsborough Semi Final 89. That put me off away trips (Apart from the replay).
I rarely go away and they don’t end well. The only time I’ve seen us win away from the City Ground is at Wembley

The Villa Park Cup semi was a great day out, we were just so good at that time.
Birmingham away when van Hooijdonk scored two late goals for a 2-1 win. Bradford on Easter Saturday in the snow that season was fun too.

4-0 Away at Old Trafford. Arrived home from Manchester just in time to see it shown Match of the Day.

3-0 at Manchester City in the FA Cup, just after they'd come into money. We took the piss that day, helped by City being awful and uninterested.

"You might be rich, but you're f***ing shit".

I remember them parading Wayne Bridge in front of their fans like he was Pele

He was compared to the dross they put out that day. I have a memory of us all shouting 'Psycho' at Wayne Bridge.

Also a chant of 'You're ground's too big for you' because they hadn't filled it for the visit of the double European Champions.

No question: Hillsborough for the 7-1.
Technically it was a homer for me as I was living and working in Sheffield for a few years, plus my Owls supporting mate's sister was SWFC club secretary at the time and got is free tickets... in among the home fans.
I loved my trips to St Andrew's with my old mate from Radcliffe, whose family were all blue-noses.
Great banter in the car driving to the game, loser buying the Haveli curry on the way home.
I seemed to be the loser each time.

I was also with the home fans that day(Forest had sold out).
Even the Sheffield Wednesday supporters were applauding Forest by the end.

Can I have this one please? Because this is the most insane away performance I’ve ever seen:

Not a huge away day fan, certainly not in recent times but I'd agree about Peterborough, yes that game.

Not often mentioned but the 3-1 win @ Goodison in the first game of the ‘Champions’ season was fantastic - if only because it was so unexpected.
What a way to introduce ourselves to the big league!

Curious game to choose, but in the early 2000s we played at Ipswich and the game finished 4-3 with, I think Marlon Mk1, scoring towards the end.

We went 2-0 down in about the first 20 mins which included a twice taken penalty which I think was saved the first time, then the game swung to and fro and the away section was rocking, with the final goal scored in front of us.

I think it was during the Hart era and might even have been in the dreaded Sheff Utd playoff season.

I know it sounds a bit hazy for a favourite away game, but I remember the occasion more than the details of the game. I think John Thompson scored just before half time to give us hope.

Yes,that is 2nd on my list(just ahead of the League Cup final replay at Old Trafford later that season).
Cloughie was back on the big stage, and we gave the joint Championship favourites a lesson.
I remember saying at the end to my dad and brother-‘if we play like that all season we’ll win the league’,and I
believed it.
Forest were magnificent that day.

I would add Old Trafford and Highbury which were always good (never been to the new Arsenal stadium, obviously).
