Evangelos Marinakis Megathread!

Bomber is often in the Castle Club too
Yes, I believe Bomber and John O'Hare are employed as 'greeters' in hospitality areas. I don't know if Kenny Burns still carries out a similar role.

I've not seen him since the return to full stadiums, but Sammy Chapman was a Main Stand regular in D/E-blocks.

Well, when Mr. Marinakis said he was going to back the club, and that fans should „prepare for trophies“, he certainly was not messing about, was he?

He has certainly put his money up front.

I perhaps think that now, we are all at the stage with Mr. Marinakis that if we came home and found him in bed with our significant other, we‘d just tuck him in, leave him to it, and go fetch him a Kebap and a crate of Mythos for afterwards.

I think the crucial thing with EM is he very much learnt from his early mistakes.

Gone are the days of him berating the players over Zoom, he's got some absolutely top people in key positions, has taken a back step and is letting them get on with it, whilst backing the club financially.

When you compare the absolute farce that was the end of the Fawaz reign to what we have now it's night and day.

It isn‘t even the same sport mate.

Forest haven‘t just turned a corner; they‘ve done a hyperspace jump at light-speed to an entirely different quadrant of the galaxy. As posted elsewhere, I cannot honestly recall a summer like it in 46 years of following the club.

And, more so, the foundations are being built for a sustained tilt at the top flight. And that is something that you have never been able to say about the Football Club, even back to the days when Mr. Clough held them there by sheer force of will.

You can’t complain can you.

Honest guy, learns and most importantly rectified mistakes, invests everything he’s allowed too and clearly has a place in his heart for the club - look at him when the camera is on him during matches, you can’t say the guy doesn’t care.

His reactions during matches had made me like him even more.

He absolutely loves it, doesn‘t he? He seems to “get“ the club, and its fans.

And he‘s bought into Forest, big time, and - as posted by many before - he has absolutely gone all-in this season, put up the money and bankrolled his manager to establish Forest as a top-flight side.

I, for one, welcome our new Greek Overlord.

He's been rightly criticised for some of his decision making in the early days. Some of them totally crass.

Some of the transfer dealings under his watch have been, well, farcical, and some of the links to Olympiacos have raised eyebrows elsewhere, but he's come out of the other side of that and set in place a structure which seems to be working better than in anyone's wildest dreams.

Absolute credit to him for realising things weren't working and rectifying them. There is still a long way to go to turn Forest into the slick machine it needs to be, but you can see it happening over the next few years.

And he's backing his management team in a way no other owner has. Anywhere.

He should have total support from all of us for what he's done and we should stick with him even if things drift a little of track at times.

We are better run now than at any time in our past. All down to him realising, learning and putting in place the right people. Massive credits to him.

How are these multi million pounds transactions actually made,is it simply by writing a cheque out/ringing up the bank and doing a bank transfer/cash up front or what?
Have always wondered

Finally we have Greek Bearing Gifts.

And it's no trojan horse either.

We might not have got here in the manner it was planned but by jingo he is going to do everything in his powers to make sure this club is going to compete with the elite.

Just seeing him going through the agony of a true supporter in the play off final and the West Ham match shows how much it means to him.

As I've been saying from day one, an owner is judged by one, very simple, criterion: has he left the club in a better overall position (football-wise, finance-wise, image-wise) than the one he inherited?

I know that, in that respect, things were relatively easy for him (because the state of the club was pretty bad when he bought it), and the final assessment can only be done after he is no longer the owner, but it's safe to say "so far so good", despite any bumps on the road. Right now it would take a lot of terrible decisions and unfortunate developments over an extended period of time in order for him to become a failure as an owner.
