Fingers crossed we'll dump, Turner, Vlad and Hennessy at the same time. We get rid of a massive bag of spare parts and you might... might...be able to make 1 goalkeeper from all the bits of all 4
Now this made me laugh! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I defy even the Baron to create a decent keeper out of those sub-standard parts.

Rumours that you're dumping Horvath over here, which may make sense for you but makes no sense for us.

You sure it's not Vlach which would make far more sense for both clubs and player?

I'm surprised we can't find a taker for him after his season with Luton last year, though I think his wages might be on the high side.
I think you can quite often pick up a competent championship keeper up for free and not on £20k per week, maybe more since promotion.

I guess that is why there were no offers.

After Vlachodimos and Mike Myers, I'd put Hennesey over this fella. He's the Turner of the championship, never felt too confident whenever he's been in goal.

There's been no such rumour; on the contrary, Vlachodimos reportedly signed for you with the provision that he would not be sent on loan. I'd gladly take Vlachodimos (whom we rate more than you do). Horvath is no improvement to what we have.

There's not a fag paper between Horvath, Turner, and count Cracula 9Vlach).
So if Horvath would be no improvement on your current goalies, neither would Vlach be either.
Vlach is terrible.

Says a lot that we have 5 over 21 keepers and none of them are good enough.

Not too surprised with this assessment of Horvath as he wasn't good enough for us in the CH so why would he be in the PL, and Shelvey who was similar but came through the academy, and since we didn't get Vlacula until the deadline day and Turner until relatively late in pre-season we perhaps couldn't make a lot of effort to move them on. I think Hennessey was injured at that point too but he did eventually make the 25 so is clearly considered ahead of Horvath and Shelvey.

I guess even if there was provision not to send Vlacula on loan then we would still be able to sell him to Oly if we wanted to. Though his kicking is far better than Turner, I'd consider him overall a weaker keeper as the shot stopping aspect is less capable and also his absolute issues on crosses and balls coming into the box which are a serious weakness for any PL keeper and at least Turner makes the effort on crosses even if he doesn't always manage to get there. There's a possibility issues with Turner are simply down to lack of experience as he played a bit in the MLS then didn't play much for Arsenal last season whereas Vlacula has played first choice for Benfica for a few seasons in the CL etc. I'd also say he's probably easier to get rid of as the Greek national keeper and only played a few matches for us.

Good point about the keepers being over 21.

I know Nuno wants a smaller squad, but an u21 being good enough to carry as a #3 keeper would be ideal, freeing up a 25 man squad place.

It'd be possible to take the risk but then we'd be deregistering Hennessey as well as Horvath and Shelvey.

We'd probably need to bring one in though as looking at the squad lists we have no keepers in the 02s, only William Brook in the 03s (who I've never heard of), then Aaron Bott in the 04s, and then 2 in the 05s (Griffiths and Willows) who are basically kids. Although Zach Abbott who is a 06 came on in one of the cup matches, keeper is a bit different, and you wouldn't want to be throwing an inexperienced teenage lad into a PL match unless you really knew they were special, this doesn't happen at all these days so no doubt it would backfire.

Generally speaking teams don't need to use their 2nd keeper often and the 3rd keeper generally not at all so it'd probably work unless either one of Turner or Vlacula got injured for a while and then we'd have to put a kid on the bench if we deregistered Hennessey for another outfielder. If the other then got sent off we'd be looking at Aaron Bott in goal for the rest of the match & then a full match when they are suspended.

Wouldn't make much sense for us (or for the player) either.

Horvath had (reportedly multiple) options for moves in August, but the club wouldn't sanction them until it was too late. He'll easily have options again in the Championship or MLS as an intended first choice keeper - and should bring in a fee if he does go to MLS.
