Supposedly they are waiting for De Gea to sign a new contract, which should happen soon.

If the saga drags on for a few more weeks, I expect Forest will look at alternative options.
De Gea is a convenient peg on which to hang Man Ure's shilly-shallying.
And I expect Forest, like all professional outfits, will be looking at alternatives already... just in case Man Ure do try to have Forest's pants down.

Most likely. Henderson is obviously our number 1 choice, but I doubt the club will put all their eggs in one basket. Especially after the Garner saga last season, as you say.

Ideally Horvath would be back up to Henderson here and that would be one less recruitment problem to solve. I don't see him being content to sit on the bench all season though at 28 when he wants to play regular international football.

Let Luton sign him for £3/4m (probably half their budget this summer) and everyone is happy.

I suspect Man U possibly won’t be doing any major transfer business until their current ownership and potential sale is sorted.

I think they're waiting on the board to approve de gea's deal, with henderson personal terms agreed.

If they dilly dally until a bidder is selected then we could be here all summer, in which case move on if you're less than 90% sure he's ours.

Could be wrong but think Horvath's contract with Forest only runs for another year anyway? Getting anywhere above £3m would recommend good business as far as I'm concerned - especially as he came on a free.

I think you're right - until I realised that I wondered if loaning him to Luton for the year might have been best for all parties. Of course, we could offer an extension and do that, though the player/clubs would all need to be in agreement: wishful thinking probably.

To be honest, I hope he does go to Luton and gets his shot in the Premier League.

Knew very little about him when he signed for us, but he's always struck me as a top professional and a decent guy. Remember seeing a video about him prior to the World Cup and the somewhat insane journey he went on to become a professional.

Will almost certainly never play for us again but good luck to him. Never let us down and it'd be nice to see him become the starting keeper for USMNT.

Agree with this. Forest have a reputation and have always done right by players.. you could say a little too generous hey mr Arter.. but he’s a young guy that deserves to continue his journey with Luton. Forest are not the arsehole club unlike some we could mention

Horvath is a record breaking Keeper having won consecutive Championship play-offs. £5m - no less

Luton away will be an incredibly tricky game for many teams. They're set up to be compact, not give much away and have been very strong from set pieces.

They might not have enough to stay up over the course of a season, but underestimate them at your peril.

Luton after Begovic on a freebie.
Says how much they value Horvath.

Whoever said £1.5m-£2m has him valued about right in my opinion, maybe less. He's just not a very good goalkeeper and he's one of a few players we have rapidly outgrown and there's no point fannying him about. Just get him gone.

I would not be surprised to him starting the first game of the season after United have stiffed us again on the transfer and the recruitment team not having another player lined up in time......

It really wont be a surprise at all....
