But it's still a guess rather than a record?

Maguire was making the v point about transferMarkt, who themselves just hoover up media and fan/gone player guesses and use an algorithm to find a best guess. Wisdom of the crowd, etc.
Donny might know more but I think I’d say it’s less of a guess and more ‘something else’, even if that ‘something else’ isn’t official. They know a lot!

I know previous Finance Directors and other staff play(ed) FM, but not sure it leads to sharing transfer info to that degree with the researcher. I guess thats up to him to chirp in if he sees this post and wants too?
BUT like I said it shows how deals are structured these days, in as much as additional fees for games played, goals scored AND staggered payments which you still need to pay even if you subsequently sell on the player

Odd. Thought he was on loan there? Don’t tell me we’ve done a Shelvey again…

I really don't understand the logic of us doing this.

We're short on forward players and to bring one in that is going to make any kind of difference, will cost us money. Money we either cannot or don't want to spend.
We have a forward player that we've paid a lot of money for, who in fairness, has had a shit loan, underperformed last year despite some glimpses but had a good season for Watford the year before. We're now letting him go back to Watford and they're only going to pay 30% of his wages with no obligation or even an option for them to buy him.

Since we bought him, he's been poor for us. He was poor in Turkey and barely played. Now if he goes to Watford and he's shit again, he'll be worth next to nothing when it comes time to sell him and obviously we can't use him for this half of the season because he'll be somewhere else.

I'm not saying long term he's the answer but f*** me, I gotta believe he's a better option than Origi. Possibly than Hudson-Odoi as well.

The wage issue thing is the big kicker. So unless I've not understood correctly, this deal is now costing us more than it did in the first half of the season when we didn't quite need him as much?

It says that he's agreed to take a 70% pay cut to join Watford. Not that we're paying 70%.

At least it gets him in the shop window to a better degree than the Turkish league. He's our asset whether we like it or not, so if we don't want to use him (or even take a look) getting something tangible back from him is important.

I don't understand why a few folk are saying we should bring him back. Took his goal against Newcastle very well but doesn't hide the fact he played like a headless chicken most of the time.

When we signed him I was quite excited but when I saw him play he was a big disappointment. Also lacks any of the physical attributes I'd want from a forward. Get rid.

I think it's due to lack of numbers in his position and a faint hope a different manager could make him a different player. That and being slightly less shit than Origi.

We don’t know how much of his wages the Turkish club was paying either. This deal could well be better for us financially.

FWIW though I still don’t understand what was that bad about him to be exiled to Turkey in the first place. Frustrating sure, but we paid a lot of money and don’t have many other options in the attacking positions. Weird.

But he's still contracted to us. Seems unlikely that he would take a 70% pay cut from Forest just so he can go on loan to Watford. Why not just sit it out at home if we have recalled him? Or fight for a spot in our squad?

Well 70% paycut means we're saving money right? But makes no sense as when you go on loan you don't take a paycut.
Yeah it's hard to make sense of - I wonder if there's some agreement to break the loan with the Turkish club that could only come about if the player agreed to take less money? (Ie we didn't agree to break the season loan unless the same amount of his wages were covered?)
