Wasn't the only one guilty of that
I disagree, I thought the desire from the team was better tonight. However, if that is your opinion, then I'd argue he would have been the only one with about 5 minutes of running in his legs after just coming on and therefore had no excuse to not apply the required effort.

So in the 5 minutes game time Dennis confirmed the accusation he is lazy? He is probably totally pissed off, having Premiership cred , but being totally ignored.
I agree with you, to clarify I wasn't saying he's lazy, just that I could see why he's been called it as he has quite a languid style.

I wonder what he was promised upon signing...

And now, he has returned from international duty because he is injured.
Now, is it a real injury, or a "I don't want to be bothered playing in a meaningless friendly" injury?

Do we know if he travelled?

I saw the injury news yesterday, so it's unlikely he did while on International duty. AFAIK, most camps will only start today after yesterday was a travel day.

What is everyone’s opinion on him now he’s played from the start?

I got flamed (partly) for suggesting his first touch, control and decision making were really poor yesterday despite his goal which he took well.

Does he get picked ahead of Awoniyi/Johnson/Lingard in our best XI?

For me, he reminds me a bit of Bryan Roy if BR had rickets. I think he’s maybe trying too hard or maybe opponents see him as main threat so are forcing him into errors? I think if we find the right mix of players to complement him, he would be first choice?

Cooper said on RN last night he's been injured. I think in the first half he looked Premier League, but was poor 2nd. Perhaps rusty due to injury and a lack of minutes. He'd be RW with Awoniyi CF and MGW LW for me.

Whether he can be trusted to track back as we are currently going back to basics however remains to be seen.

He definitely was trying too hard at times to make things happen and ended up giving the ball away far too easily, im just hoping it'll get better with minutes and as the teams form improves(fingers crossed)

Held on to the ball too long to the point he got dispossessed numerous times. We didn't create much so cannot comment on his abilities as a forward player. Took his goal well.

It was a brand new front 3-was it Dennis first start as well. Plus been nursing shoulder injury. Showed flashes of quality, lots to work on but gives us another option.

He gave the ball away more times than I have ever seen a player give the ball away. It was ridiculous, like he was out to set a record or something.

Needs to simplify things, and realise he’s not playing Wembley singles every time he gets the ball. If he does that, he’ll be a good signing.

Wildcard. He'll go from the sublime to the ridiculous and back again. Works hard and think there's a place for him, though I'd rather see him cutting from the left. Pleased he got his goal and took it well.

Oh, and reminds me of a nutty Del Chisiora miniature.

No, he was dreadful. Not even a decent headed goal makes that not true. But like I said, he’s not shit usually from what we’ve all seen so we move on.
No, he wasn't.

He's scored in his first start. As a number 9 that's what he's paid to do. Some lovely touches and very lively as well.

Gave the ball away lots and tried too hard to impress but rather that than being completely ineffective or letting the game pass him by.

I really like him.

They pretty much all came from playing on the left wing Otis. He is at his best cutting inside from the left on a counter attack.

I would be putting him there & MGW on the right.
Those two either side of Surridge or Awoniyi seems the best bet IMO. Johnson and Lingard haven't done enough to deserve to play IMO.

He shouldn’t have been taken off, looks like the only forward who is capable of scoring at the moment.

Thought he did pretty well today much better than Monday, made stuff happen. Like the way he finds space to receive a ball, bit lacking in the other forward players

Holds on to the ball a bit too much, there was a couple of times where he should have passed and didn’t. Mind you, he probably looked up saw Brennan and thought f*** it i’ll just have a go myself.

I like his weaving runs and he's got really good pace to get away from opponents.

Problem is when he's weaving he often twists himself up and loses his footing too easily. He also hangs on to the ball far too long when he should be playing one-twos, etc. He needs to recognise he can't do it all by himself. He's not got that MGW quality on the ball.

I'd rather he starts games over Lingard, though. He's much more dangerous and carries the ball far better.
