I don't get why the likes of Sedge even have to bring managers into it?

In isolation, the majority of this year's quality of football has been far worse than the majority of last years.

Conversley you could say that this years off-field developments have been far, far better. But I'm just talking about matches which I've actually enjoyed watching.

To use an Alf-esque analogy - if you've only had one good shag in the last five years, chances are you're still gonna be thinking/talking about it until you have another

 The trouble is we've fans who think we're Johnny Depp, when we're actually more like Mickey Rourke - a stud in his peak, now just a mashed up lad getting back on the up the ugly way.

It's like when we hear about time-wasting etc. - we're in no position to be so honourable that we can dismiss it as a valid tactic.

In the football heirachy of needs we're still very much getting the lower end stuff sorted.

Some of you take some blinkers off.

Davies produced dull boring sides, despite being backed to the hilt by two club owners, he failed, not only failed, but wreaked his own level of destruction on the club, like some insane male dominatrix or what ever they are called, yet still sections of the fan base wish to use his shite as toothpaste and lie down to be treated as a bitch by him.

He's gone thank God, get over it.

Most of us can't stand the man and would never want him back.

But it is possible to admit someones capabilities while at the same time disliking him.

It's fine to dislike a player or a manager. Certain personalities appeal to some, not to others. But to allow a personal dislike to blind you to any positives in someone is just immature.

Jamie Mackie is a player I can't stand and who I think is a far bigger tosser than Abdoun. But I'll be the first to admit that his qualities in battling and breaking up play are still useful and I wouldn't have a problem with him playing for us.

Don't see anyone rimming Davies on here. He will never be successful because he's bonkers. Simple as.

And that's why he is and always will be flawed. However, he did show some good qualities such as hard work and attention to detail of opposition strengths and weaknesses, particularly in his first spell and if DF possesses some of these then it's no bad thing.

I feel exactly the same way about Mackie.

A good knob-head to have in the team.

'That night in west brom' was bloody freezing. The fans chanting for Billy to sign up Radi and Billy mouthing he wants him. Goosebumps!

Sedge you must read peoples responses. The only reason Davies was mentioned was because I saw simalarities between how Freedman and him operate. Then I went on to say if we can Davies football coaching ability with the temperament of Pearce then we would have a great manager. I think Freedman can be the guy whose has both of those abilities. There was no rimming from I as much as said he was insane and nasty.

You can agree with some points that people you don't like make and achieve. Davies sides played good footy only Hart has played any better than that. SOD could of in time with better players but again no rimming here just being plainly objective

Pretty much what the other lads have responded. It had it's lows, but overall I quite enjoyed it and thought the football itself was at times enjoyable. Far more so than this year.

Until Feb time last season when all the injuries accumulated I never felt that we were out of a game. I think we'd scored in almost every game up to around this point, and even when we were behind I felt confident we'd give it a go.

This year the second we've gone behind it's felt and usually been game over for the majority of matches.

The atmosphere's what's saved this season mind.

Apologies Alf and all others, I should have said post New year in fairness so I retract that.
Unfortunately the unfinished business was Mark Arthur, John Pelling, Keith Burt, Frazer Nicholson, The Evening Post and Radio Nottingham amongst others and for that I lost a lot of respect for him, he let us as fans down very badly. The man is a full blown lunatic and I know for a fact that for at least one of his coaching staff this was the final straw and he has said that he would never work with him again.
He went far too far this time.

He does have qualities but his major, major personality flaws will always out weight any positives.

Billy Davies - too mental to understand what a great manager he could be

That's the most apt statement I have ever read about him. There is nothing more frustrating in life then seeing someone with talent not having self awareness to do better. The guy needs a life coach.

Hopefully DF can help start getting a bit of style to our game, would love to see us passing it around nicely and bossing the midfield like we did at times last season, even if it was short lived!

This name calling re Freedman is pathetic. Fawaz had no choice. Stuart Pearce was a hero of mine but given the players he had he had run out of ideas. The players no longer had faith in him........if you saw the Millwall game you'll understand. We haven't turned a corner yet but Saturday's win may be the beginning.

I can't tell, did he wear a suit or tracksuit on Saturday? From the pictures/interview he seemed to continuously change outfit...
