Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

It does say on their website Hourihane signing subject to EFL approval.
Derby - Can we sign this nondescript player please.
The EFL - Don't see a problem with that now you are all above board. How much do you want to pay him.
Derby - Just the £119 hourly rate.
The EFL - Isn't that around £20K/week.
Derby - Well that's another way of looking at it.
The EFL - You do know you are under restrictions right?
Derby - You say tomato, I say pineapple.
The EFL - Get out.

They all- even the contract renewals for Cashin and Thompson- say subject to approval tbh.

Can only assume Mendez-Laing needed them more than they needed him and his terms sailed through!

Could EFL approval be the next installment/phase of fun to be had!

So they have picked up every free transfer left that is capable of walking (just), hip replacement or not.

And this is what their squad looks like (and half still want to leave):

It's not hitting home yet is it.

May as well ask if it hasn't been covered definitively- @Notcher

Any ideas or word on the HMRC front? Certainly seems to be a lot of speculation but nothing yet seems to be entering the public domain.

This seems a totally uninspiring approach. Some reason why their fans got behind last season was the budding of youngsters which created a more togetherness and some hope for the future. My mates a Sheff utd fan-they loved Mcgoldrick-said he as amazing for them in first year of prem- but his words were that ‘he’s f**ked now’

f***ing hilarious how some Derby fans are so enthused and are deluded to think these signings will make them the favorites for promotion(Yes I actually saw that somewhere).

Only reason these players are signing for your dumbasses is because nobody else wanted them. They will still be relegation candidates of that I have no doubt.

Can't wait for the announcement when they bring that dickbag Robbie Savage out of retirement.

McGoldrick's goal return last season backs that up. There's a reason he hasn't been picked up by a Championship side.

Their best young players have been poached whilst in admin and its unlikely Bird, Knight and Byrne will be there come the start of the season; take those three away and factor in the likelihood of Bielik being injured for a large chunk of the season and what is left of their squad looks pretty grim.

Heard nothing more my end mate. More of a closed shop now that fewer parties are involved so less to leak out.

Only thing I do know is that there is a potential shitstorm to come out regarding Quantuma and Mel Morris which I mentioned a week or so ago

They have all taken huge paycuts to play for the mighty Derby County apparently.

Funny how they are all so desperate to come, yet the ones actually there & wanted to stay have gone elsewhere.

I actually think they've assembled a half decent side, as long as some their better academy lads stick about..

Just seen a tweet saying they've a better starting 11 than us (not sure they even have 11!)... Love to draw them in the cup as they might find out they're nowhere near as good as us

They've sold most of the decent academy lads to keep the lights on, thanks to Quantuma refusing to sell any first team players in January. There will undoubtedly be other departures (Knight, Byrne and Bird in particular) who won’t want to hang around to play in the third tier.

Hourihane is a decent player, hard to say whether McGoldrick still has enough in the tank for League One. As for the rest, pretty much dregs from the freebie market.
