I was formely a **** Management Consultant. Every so often, you'd be sent to do a job for a client where they'd want high-level strategy explained to part of the workforce.
It was a dread if you got strategy from a big consultancy to deliver because they would always have some GOATEM bollocks going on - Goals/Objectives, Aims, Targets, Evaluation data and Milestones. And there would always be somef***ing arsehole employee who would want to have a philosophical discussion about Aims and Targets that couldn't be met.
When I was still a junior, I had to deliver one of these to GPT/Plessey up in Beeston. I'd had enough of this one bloke so I explained that if I was going to shoot him, I'd aim for between the eyes. If my shot was slightly off, I'd almost certainly be on target and shoot him in the head. Therefore my goal, to shut him up, would be successful.
Obviously, I was moved onto another job pretty quickly.

I would personally like to Thank the Derby fans for my newfound way of life, I've had a few bumps in the road but I feel splendid living the Derby way.
I've just been fined Ā£30 for handing my book back into the library after its due date , me crossing out the date it was due back and writing "Imminent" was not acceptable apparently.
On my way home I was a bit peeved and just went the speed I felt like going and was issued a fixed penalty notice which I refused to pay because other cars had gone faster previously. I'm due in court next week for that but I say "good luck" to them trying to catch me out, anyway Amazon don't pay tax and they don't get in trouble.
Speaking of tax, I'm just completing my tax return that was due 31st of January just gone, I might submit it but in fairness it will probably mean I've got tax to pay so I am in no hurry. Despite the threats of fines and the like I am standing my ground, there is no such thing as a deadline. I will fight it til the end.
I'll let you know how next week goes because Ive got to speak apparently with the mortgage company who stupidly reckon paying my bill on their timescale is something I've got to do and I've got to go to the kids school about their attendance as apparently them showing up whenever I can be bothered to get them there is also causing them issues (The dimwits).
I can't believe all of this was caused ultimately by the EFL and people expecting me to meet deadlines or targets that don't exist.
