Diving

I feel that this has been happening a lot recently, especially diving when trying to win penalties.

While I'm not bothered when Lansbury does it on the halfway line, it's really frustrating to see players fall over in the box instead on trying to score.

Assombalonga can go down easily but with Antonio surely you're not talking about the one not given today? That was stonewall.

It's no worse than Luke Chambers shoving and hanging onto them in the box. Unfortunately if you don't go down the defenders are allowed to do whatever they like. However if you slightly touch a defender it's a foul.

Every time a cross went in their box it looked like a WWF free for all. It`s up to the ref to book them if he thinks they`ve dived by not giving , what I thought , were 2 definite penalties .

It has to be a poleaxe to get a penalty - whereas anywhere else on the pitch if you breath on a player it's a freekick. It would be nice to see some consistency in decision making. If it's not a penalty for little niggly fouls then it shouldn't be freekicks.

I wouldn't call it diving anyway - Antonio got a lot of touches and fouls in the box but none of them stone wall. If you get touched, the chances are he is going down and I am sure if he got the penalties nobody would be complaining. (But one of them was blatant, the ref was terrible).

Most people would fall over when pushed, pulled or barged unexpectedly and unfairly.

Go back to Mars, Bob! From my place in the Upper TE, it seemed that every time the ball went to one of our target men, the defender had a piece of shirt, shoulder, shorts, arm round chest/neck/waist; in fact anything. Colluding in this cheating was the ref who waved everything away. Most of us don't want to see multiple penalties in the match; just one would act as a warning and stop this blatant wrestling. No doubt Chambers etc will smugly be traveling back thinking what a great job they had done by cheating.

Ipswich set up their game in a certain way, but it didn't work. Their draw was based on luck; they didn't plan to concede multiple chances to us. We could have had 6.

What does the ref tell the teams before the game?
Ipswich; Sammon in particular - if you foul continuously, I'll give you a damn good talking to. And no, he didn't get booked, even after 4/5 fouls. Also, if you feel under pressure, just lie down (even if you do it several times). Nobody will mind if you're running around like a 2-year old within seconds.
Forest; Lans especially (who didn't get a grip until the final stages) - your first late tackle, you're in the book. And yes, his first tackle (late) - in the book.
You couldn't make it up.

Message for those in T2 who sit row F downwards; when you decide it's all up and en mass decide to get up and leave, some of us poor buggers behind, who decide to support Forest until the end, can't see. Not rocket science. And do you know what made it sweeter? You all missed the Forest equalizer. I hope spending that 2 minutes less in a traffic queue is worth it boys.

Yes, that's right - I'm f**king angry. We're so close to being the finished article despite having a few players off form.

Every cross seems to result in Britt or Ant in a heap on the floor - there's been a few times when there probably was a foul but it does get tiresome

I can't stand diving. It becomes a crying wolf situation which is what I am assuming is beginning to happen here. I'm sure referees will see the teams play before they go to the game and will know who to keep an eye on both for diving and being naughty when they have their backs turned.

I preferred it when players couldn't wrestle and shirt pull in the area without conceding a foul.
That foul on Antonio was a pen wasn't it?

Britt could have gone down multiple times today for shirt grabbing in the box but didn't..I thought shirt pulling was against the rules? Doing that in the box is suicidal defending, unless you have a referee like the one today.

Thought Antonio was guilty against Wigan. Went down a few times pretty theatrically! But Britt to his credit stayed on his feet when he was getting pulled and pushed all over the place.

It should be but so many teams seem to get away with persistent shirt pulling and holding players these days. Are you sure the rules haven't changed?

Jonny Williams could've been Will Hughes the amount of times he threw himself to the floor.

Antonio was dragged to the ground 2 or 3 times the area today.

No. Got bored of our players playing for fouls all game.
The one 2nd half on my side of the Trent End area? Sorry, Robbie but that was a penalty all day long, without a doubt.

As for the persistent hanging on to Assombalonga's arm by their defenders every sodding time, I'd like the linesman to insert his flag up himself before f***ing off & going for a swim off Trent Bridge. What an inept twat he was.

It was soft as anything. He got an arm round him but he was looking for the penalty and had no reason to go down. I wouldn't have given it and I'd have booked him too.

I'm not saying the ipswich players weren't a bit dirty today, they definitely were. There was a huge dive that lead to Lansbury getting booked

I'm not just on specifically about today either, it's been annoying me for quite a few games now.

Brighton were the worst for it. Ref waved their players up 3 or 4 times, a couple of times there was not even a challenge and the ref waved them up, yet didn't book them. Not seen a booking for a dive for a long time, must be a new rule or something.

But its not just that RobbieLePop; the thing which really gets to some of us is the unpunished free for all every corner and cross. Football shouldn't be like that.

Why ignore virtual physical cowardly assaults on players, then allow cheats to feign injury (their bloke at the back did it TWICE!!!!).

The referee should insist that such injury-prone weaklings be immediately substituted for their own safety and future career as male escorts. I wasn't so much calling for the penalty shouts (even though one was clearly a pen); it is the afore-mentioned defenders getting a grip on our forwards (EVERY F**KING TIME) that was getting my goat.

The referee should just do his job. That's all.
