Derby County Fan Excuses

Wow just been on a Forest forum the way they talk about us is a disgrace, I will be there on Tuesday night and I really hope we shut up the 6 finger Gumps, how they can call us is beyond a joke, that city is full of you know what, let's smash them and take the bragging rights and in the next round let's get Chelsea at home. I love a cup run, it can help with confidence, which is a very important thing going into the November/December fixtures.

The forum is pretty childish over on that side.

Seriously what were you expecting - they did*win the European cup twice you know - a competition that doesn’t exist anymore.

Hooters the place with the second biggest tits in Nottingham, the first being in the*city ground block A.

Think tuesday night could be when our season clicks , signs of it starting against WBA , lets get in there and show them tree huggers what we are all about.

The word "transition season" has got to be the most over used phrase on this forum closely followed a few years ago by "The Derby Way" which has now been turned into a comment of ridicule.

Cup games vs forest are better than league games vs forest! Knocking them out of the cup > taking 3 points off them.

Starting to think that Lamouchi is a good fit for Forest and he plays actually decent football aswell from what I've seen.

That is an absurdly young team for any game, let alone the east midlands Derby. Godspeed, boys.

Poor line up, but seriously, he realises this is our local rivals right?

Hope the young lads don’t get caught up in the occasion, Forests team looks much stronger than ours on paper.

OMG this could become embarrassing i hope im wrong but i can only see one winner here and they play in Red.

So Cocu has no regard for the Carabao Cup neither the occasion of an East Midlands Derby it seems then*

Not sure why he'd pay any regard to the fact that the opponents are local rivals. It's not Cocu's job to sooth your neuroses.

Forest have a massive squad so their second-ish string was always going to be stronger than ours.

Meanwhile, Stuart Pearce who sounds the most intellectually challenged pundit in the history of football is on TalkSport. Not sure I'll be able to listen. I remember him kicking Ted McMinn 10 feet in the air over the advertising hoardings one time. And McMinn got booked for it. Later that same day I was in a south Notts pub and Pearce was at the table next to me. Only time in my life I've nearly started a fight. Wish I had!

Deserved lead for forest who’ve been all over us for the last 15 minutes. All our own fault again though because we can’t hit a simple pass, or indeed defend a corner, as per.

Should be fielding a stronger side. Poor team selection.

We’re gonna get hammered here. They’re so so much better than us.

Huge judgement error from Cocu tonight.

I think we can all agree this game doesn't count, right?

Cocu clearly didn't know what this game means to many people and the stick many are going to get tomorrow.

It's the league cup.

It's Forest.

Amateur defending from amateur players, not really a surprise.

Embarrassing comments from embarrassing fans, definitely not a surprise.

2-0 down. At half-time*we might*consider Shinnie at left back and bringing Knight into the midfield. Sounds as though the gumps are well on top. Definitely a time for our young guns to stand up and be counted.

If we don't beat Brentford this is a piss taking selection.

I’ll be at work in Nottingham tomorrow, any forest fans getting excited because they beat our kids and reserves will be laughed at.

Thanks Cocu. This is just plain disrespectful to us as fans. Youth yes but this isn't just the Milk Cup it's Forest FFS!

Well done Phillip - a real tactical master stroke playing a reserve team against our biggest rivals. That’s really going to boost our youngsters confidence going forward isn’t it? I don’t expect much from what is now a bang average squad in transition, but I expect our strongest side to be put out against the red scum.

It’s not a even a p*** take side. Half of it are experienced championship/premier league pros. Before the start one poster at least was remarking on the strength of the spine. 2 crosses 2 goals suggests it ain’t the kids letting the side down. But I’m still in the camp that Cocu has put out a reasonable side for this game.

Cocu's not employed to fixate on anything related to Forest.*

But he is employed to pick a team capable of winning the game. Forest are not Scunthorpe.

Forest have made 8 changes as well by the way for those that are harping on about playing their full strength side. Our squad just isnt as strong anymore.

Both ourselves and the dogs have put out “weakened” sides. Anyone thinking that we are playing our youngsters against their first team is deluded. Both clubs are using this competition to assess their teams for the long season ahead. Our squad is thinner and has more*youngsters in it. But we also have a few experienced players playing tonight.

The biggest game in Notts Forest’s season never involves them. The fact they are still singing about Bobby Zamora demonstrates that. Tinpot. Moral superiority intact.

Yeah, cos our muppets never sing about collymore any more do they?

Weird very lucky goal from a ricochet - Davies whacked a clearance but it flew in off Carvalho who didn't know what had happened. Pearce says they've had all the luck tonight. Shame.

Real shame the dream is dead for another year. I’ve always wanted to taste that sweet taste of Carabao at Wembley ever since I were a lad. The dream of winning the competition is dead for another year. You have to think that Cocu being foreign probably doesn’t understand how important the Carabao Cup is to the fans?

Yeah who wants to win a major cup competition and have a great day out at Wembley. I take it you were really pissed off when we went and beat Man Utd last season weren’t you. The thing I liked most about Lampard was playing proper teams in cup competitions and having a go and creating momentum. How many cups finals have the likes of Sheff Weds, Wigan and Portsmouth got to since we last did? I take it their fans were idiotic to care as they strolled down Wembley way. Dear me. The pursuit to finish 17th in the premier league doesn’t excite me but seeing Derby lift a cup at Wembley does.

I reckon Mel should refund the supporter's tickets who went to that poo shower tonight. They bought those tickets in good faith, hoping to beat our arch rivals only to find out the manager wants to literally throw the match for the sake of teaching a few of our wee youths a hard lesson.

Not surprised, Red*Dogs mean business this year. Whereas we are in rebuild yet again.

Forest unbeaten in 7 against us. It doesn’t feel like that but that is piss poor, especially when you consider we’ve been consistently better than them over recent years.

They beat our u23s big deal.

They weren't our u23s and the Forest team has a lower average age than ours.

I think it’s at their place that they’ve gone 7 unbeaten in this fixture. We haven’t won there since the the Clough days.

Their squad is better than ours and on first glance so may be their*first team.

Lampard did a real number on us, left us with half a team.

Just to remind everything Mel is approaching this as a LONG TERM PROJECT. Us fans need to stop treating everything so short term if we want long term success. As long as we don't get relegated this is all so we can be a better team in the long run. We're following in the footsteps of teams like Norwich*where a vision was*laid down and over 2-3 years they came to fruition.*We need to trust the process as we can't keep hitting reset every year.

I used to have the same viewpoint, but you don't sign Wayne fookin Rooney if you've not going all out for top 6.

The idea that losing at Forest is ok, let alone by that scoreline, shows how low our expectations have fallen. Those fans who have said this ( there are loads and loads on here) are embarrassing.

Got back one hour ago, calmed down a bit after some ale, now I am always very positive, but tonight really upset me, I hate Forest with a passion, been following the Rams for 40 years and to lose in that manner was hard to take.

I'm absolutely disgusted with his lack of respect for the fans, the cup tournament in general, and even Nottingham Forest. If you want to make changes, do what Forest did, tinker with some personnel, but keep the spine. What Phil did was stick two fingers up at all of us who attended the game and wasted our money buying tickets and said he didn't care.

I'm equally enraged by the pathetic, mealy mouthed interview in which he gave after when he said it was a big game, yet put out almost no first choice players. That is a dishonest and just pure lip service Phil, you didn't give one poo about how big the game was, you just wanted it out the way. I'd have more respect for him if he came out and just admitted he didn't care about the cup, to be honest.

Anyone knows what's supposed to have gone on with the team and the Forest stewards after the game? Apparently*Keogh and Davies both got*involved with them in separate incidents, as well as some of the other players.

Keogh and a member of their ground staff had a bit of handbags

He's making a bit of a habit of losing the plot when we lose there isn't he? It hurts us all but he should be the one keeping a calm head.

Looks like he was assaulted. Blood flowed.

On the day the Bury ceased to exist it's a bit melodramatic posting a thread with the title Overreaction.

Don’t get the over reaction comment, we just lost to our arch rivals and taken a hammering in the process. Do we expect the comments to be, we played well and was unlucky because we weren’t.

3500 rams travelled to that poo*hole to be laughed at for 90 minutes, not good.

Ha, brilliant :)

Just to echo Flaggers statement though, big kudos to all of them for respecting Agogo's minutes applause. Commendable stuff.

I've tried logging on to their forum to post that, but can't. So if anyone's an account over there drop them a cheers. They may be inbred sheep shaggers, but credit where it's due.

Applause to Calvin for gathering / posting the above whilst holding his nose. Well played Calvin.

"Forest are not Scunthorpe."

A shrewd observation it has to be said.

No mate, we turned up as Nottingham Forest whereas your lot turned up as a mobile carvery*.

Sheep sarnie anyone? There's plenty of Caraboa** (whatever that is) to wash it down with.

* why is 'carvery' treated as a spelling error on here? It's not Scunthorpe.

** Did we ever find out who won the free tickets for last night - didn't see any 'whoop-whooping'? Or did the LTLF crew go for the draw but lost?

I love the confidence and ribbing falling away to be replaced by anger and resignation.

Derby a bit like Fulham in that regard, chip on their shoulders who think they play football better than they actually do. At least Fulham managed a shot on target against us though.

I did similar Wes. Though I was laughing at you, not with you.

Did you download your spellchecker off this site? Only you always hit the swear words right on the nosey - the 'swear filter' (yeah, right) on here only complains if you spell one wrong.
