He was awesome last night. And he's also consistently solid... not one good game followed by two bad. Think he signed a two year deal so would only have a year to run in the summer. I'd be offering him a contract extension now, or at least discussing the principle of one for the summer when we can hopefully afford a better deal.

He has an absolutely superb reading of the game. Always knew what the Derby players were doing before they did.

We have got an absolute steal here. Him & Lichaj either side give me great assurance.

I know I am guilty of this

I think we do overrate players but at the same time he was pretty good for us.

When he came to the City Ground for Barnsley it looked a significantly different player to the one that turned out for us. Cash ripped him apart and he didn’t look very bothered.

Also you have to ask why so many players that leave Forest go on to play at a lower level or lesser club , Other than a handful of players , Antonio, Morgan,Lascelles and Darlow everyone else is either at the same level or lower.
We need to stop being a players last pay cheque, Fryatt, Mance, etc and let's face it Gueddy, Murphy, Grabban,Watson , Pants, Dawson etc we still have another wave to come.
I don't mind a few last chance saloon players but just not the amount we have had over the years.

You gotta strike the balance of being a players last pay cheque or being their last club and wanting to go out on a high. I think on the whole the ones we got at the minute are good eggs compared to the ones we have had in the past, but as always time will tell.

Pinillos was a decent signing for where we were at the time. It’s also worth remembering that that last minute equaliser against Derby ultimately kept us up!

Yes, i'm not sure you could question whether it was a good signing. Free transfer under embargo, and think he was on south of 5k a week.

Really liked him. Had passion when most of our squad didn't give a shit.

He genuinely loved playing for us. Shame that injury really hurt his career.

We also massively under estimate players (well some people do), Grant Holt, Wes Morgan, James Perch all slagged off as not good enough (by some) all went to play in the Premier league and well.

3 out of literally 100s of piles of shite in the last 2 decades doesnt really make the case any better.

I thought we overestimated players - Lolley for England etc?

Can someone confirm whether I'm overestimating or underestimating please as I need to write an ill thought out kneejerk post on Twitter

Thanks

Wes is the only one that went to achieve anything properly and it's not like he was hounded out by supporters either is it.

Mancienne is playing for another club and was 25/26 when we signed him

Fryatt was a proven Championship striker who had a bad injury not really sure how you can blame the club there

Of the players listed currently at the club, Pantillimon is a GK and only 31, depending on how he goes, he could play for another 5-10 years, the rest are veterans, half signed on a free and only Grabban and Murphy cost a significant amount of money

Grolt went on to be the top English goal scorer in the Premier league (for 1 season) and Perch haf 2 successful season in the prem something this club hasnt done in 2 decades.

And that’s the pinnacle is it?

Hardly a spit in the face of the doubters is it

No, but the fact Grolt scored more goals in 1 season than the majority of our players since have scored in this league says allot, he should of got an England call up aswell tbf.

Morgan was massively criticised on here and many people said he was league 1 at best.

Perch didn't go on to set the world alight but playing in the Premier league is what we're aspiring to at the moment.
