That's a squad of 31 although 3 don't need to be registered. So Taylor seems an obvious choice to leave out so that's 27. Probably Cafu so that's 26. So then who's the last one? Surridge getting loaned out? Colback? Niakhate or Richards left out due to injury? What do we reckon?

I wouldn't register Smith.
Let's be fair it's rare we will need to use a 2nd choice keeper let alone a 3rd and it frees up outfield options.
Shelvey is the next in line, so presumably it'd be him.
He probably needs more professional minutes, so I assumed he was going to go out on loan this season. No idea why he hasn't but it's plausible that the club have held him here for exactly this scenario. He's probably close enough to Smiths standard that it may not be worth carrying 3 senior keepers.

So looking at that we need to lose two for the 25 man? Suppose it depends on how long Richards (and Niakhate?) are out given the world cup break, but Taylor is an obvious one and Colback is likely to be more used than Cafu, so is guess Cafu and Taylor left out/moved on somewhere where the window is still open?

I was hoping to find Taylor had bagged a couple against Huddersfield during his Brum loan last year, alerting Corberan to his talents first hand. Sadly he injured himself in the warm up.

It's absolutely ridiculous considering we've signed 20 odd players but I did really want that Premier League experienced striker as the cherry on top. Somebody else said you look at WBA signing Lukaku and staying up, Ings keeping Southampton up a couple of seasons ago, Bamford for Leeds etc. feels like having that striker gives you a bit of a safety net, but it didn't happen for whatever reason so just need to hope Taiwo finds his shooting boots ASAP.

We're only looking light at one position really - RWB, if Aurier doesn't happen. An injury to Williams and presumably Biancone is next up, but that limits our attacking threat down that side.

It's an option, certainly - but it then limits Coopers ability to change up formations during a match - something he has shown he will do many times in the past.

Agree but we also can’t blindly stick to a system with inappropriate players.
Personally I would be looking at it already given the defensive issues - unless Bade and Boly come straight in and sure things up.
Currently we have defenders that’s are being exposed by a 2 man midfield. We will face a lot of teams playing 3 in midfield and one up top which means we need the 3 at the back to be dynamic - this was fine at championship level but I can’t see any of them currently carrying the ball into midfield.
Bade’s YouTube highlights seem to suggest he can do it but as far as I can tell only Notcher has seen him play twice so feels risky to know if he will be ready made to do it
