Cole Palmer [BUPA]

I'd actually go the other way. Either we buy him outright or we look elsewhere. Don't want to develop someone else's talent, especially a competitor in this league, and he is a talented kid.
Hence loan with a view to sign him outright. Agree a figure with City with no doubt a hefty sell on and a buy back clause. If he is wonderful after a full season of Premier League football, winner. If he is pap and struggles, we send him back to City.

He would have had more minutes if City didn't rate him so highly and want to keep him around their first team.

When he does get regular minutes he will probably show how good he is.

Yeah. Foden didn't go anywhere on loan but took him 2-3 years to properly break through. Liam Delap has been loaned to Stoke, Preston and now Hull.

Says all you need to know.

Yep, if baloguns price is now almost as much as jesses weekly wage, ESR will surely be more than that?
Yep well Balogun’s price went from 25mil, to 34mil, to 50mil in the space of a week 😂 Arsenal are desperately trying to offset some of their spend.

If we are using Foden as a comparison, he had 2874 minutes (nearly 32 games collectively) of Premier League football under his belt by the time he was 21.

Not that the above is meant to sway either way, just more the point Foden had far more experience domestically than Palmer at the same age.

I am going to go against the grain and say no.

I haven't seen much of him domestically, but I didn't think he stood out for England, in fact in the final I thought he was pretty poor, his final ball on a few occasions was terrible. I also didn't like the playacting from him on a few occasions.

Domestically he has 478 minutes (just over 5 games) of Premier League football under his belt, nothing at lower league level and if buying him outright, that twitter link was touting him at £15-20million, which if you scrub the fact he is coming from City, everyone would be a lot more hesitant.

Outright, not for me.
Loan with a view, maybe.
Would I prefer us to look elsewhere, probably.
The fact that he gets anywhere near City’s first team tells you how good he is and how much they rate him. 5 games for them is impressive.

If Palmer was anywhere near Foden's levels then we wouldn't be talking about him as a potential option.

Foden is genuine build your team around him quality, worth £80m+.

It's a good thing our Brazillian's go by a single name and not DdSdO or FAdAM.

If that is the case then we shouldn't be comparing the two?

Pep essentially said Foden was off limits for any sale at any price. I reckon they wouldn’t sell at all, or to add a value for the purposes of discussion, not even for £180mil.

Much like Jadon Sancho did, as he couldn’t get game time at City and they would t loan him out, hence he effectively forced a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Granted his subsequent move to Man United hasn’t caught fire as yet, but he does have undoubted quality.

Intelligent player. Used in a variety of positions in Pep's system, including wide left-side. From what I've seen, can hold possession on the line and likes to drift in between the full-back and CH (as most of City's wide men do/can). I see him as Waddle-esque i.e. lacks speed but compensates with positional play and footwork.

If the link is genuine, see a loan option as being most realistic as I believe Pep will want another year looking at the kid. If perm, will likely include a buy-back clause.

Given the option, prefer ESR all day long.

Having said all that, and considering the schooling and experience in the EPL, not sure either is equipped to function effectively in a team with likely >40% possession.
