Cole Palmer [BUPA]

Would prefer Smith-Rowe, but OK, sure! Can he play on the left? Did Cooper work with him with the U17s?

Would be surprised if City did anything other than loan him out to get more game time under his belt. Great prospect.

It’s a clear yes on this one. Thought I’d read somewhere that City had him in their first team plans, maybe not. Burnley trying to the the u21 keeper from them too.

My total guess is that City would sell, but it would have the inclusion of an agreed first option buy back for them. Or a significant sell on %.

Either way, very good player.

I would love Palmer, he is a special talent.

Something that always stands out when I watch him is he is tall and gangly but still has a low centre of gravity and beats players with body feints.

I am normally against a lack of experience when signing players for this level but I would make an exception for him.

Can't help but think Burnley have to upper hand with any City youngsters up from grabs given the Kompany link.

Got to hope the players take a step back and realise it's f*cking Burnley.

Playing ‘style’ (not talent) kind of reminds me of Kieran Dowell. Palmer clearly is an exciting prospect, more attacking by nature. Stacks of potential.

Kieran Dowell is very talented. But he doesn't have the physical attributes to make that talent work at seemingly anything above mid-Championship.

It's not too surprising that is where he has played the bulk of his career really.

In terms of his technical ability I'm not sure that Garner (who is a similar type of player) is much better than Dowell. But Garner is quicker and stronger than Dowell and that's why he has won promotion and plays for a PL club and Dowell is now at Rangers.

I would definitely have Palmer on loan. He's 02 so wouldn't count to the 25 and would be competition in the midfield places.

Yeah good comparison, I was trying to think of one but none were standing out.

He has much more ability to beat players than Dowell had, obviously a different level of player all round.

ESR would be fantastic, seems like Arteta is committing to keep him now. I would imagine if if we’re put up for sale the starting price would be 40mil+ though.

Arteta ruled out ESR sale a couple months months ago.

He was on my "want" list but gave up on him quickly enough after that. CHO or Palmer would be decent alternative options.

I am going to go against the grain and say no.

I haven't seen much of him domestically, but I didn't think he stood out for England, in fact in the final I thought he was pretty poor, his final ball on a few occasions was terrible. I also didn't like the playacting from him on a few occasions.

Domestically he has 478 minutes (just over 5 games) of Premier League football under his belt, nothing at lower league level and if buying him outright, that twitter link was touting him at £15-20million, which if you scrub the fact he is coming from City, everyone would be a lot more hesitant.

Outright, not for me.
Loan with a view, maybe.
Would I prefer us to look elsewhere, probably.

I'd actually go the other way. Either we buy him outright or we look elsewhere. Don't want to develop someone else's talent, especially a competitor in this league, and he is a talented kid.

Yep, if baloguns price is now almost as much as jesses weekly wage, ESR will surely be more than that?
