Claudio Yacob - „El Bastardo“

Yacob, Guedioura and Watson are 32, 33 and 34 respectively at the beginning of this season. All 3 are OK but have various limitations to their games and are all in decline.

All 3 are on decent wages with a year left on their contracts.

Any respectable offer that comes in is likely to be accepted and failing that, free deadline day transfers may happen. I'd rather they be leaving asap to allow replacements to settle in though.

Add Bridcutt to that and we have far too many midfielders who are the wrong side of 30 in the squad.

Getting rid of all four and replacing them with a couple of quality midfielders in their mid to late 20's would be a wise move IMO.

All I can see when I think of Watson is wayward, panicked square balls intercepted by a flying opposition winger!!
Do we know Jacob doesn't posses passing range?

If Yacobs got any flair to his forward passing he's kept it well hidden. Good option for the bits & pieces role, but with the clever running of Carvalho & Silva in front of him, I wouldnt suggest Yacob is the best option to find them.

I think there may be some question marks about Carvalho's ability to play the 'Number 8' role. he's definitely better suited to the 10...

If we want a deep lying playmaker, stick Geddy in there. If we want to be more secure defensively, Yacob is the man.

Watson should be a backup in both scenarios.

Or, alternatively, we could f*** both Watson and Gueddy off and spend some serious money on players that can do that job properly in a top 6 team.

That’s what we need.

Guedioura is not likely to return to Nottingham Forest after the ACON.
He is destined for Al Kuwait.

why do I get the feeling MON is going to let all our quality players walk replaced with high earning 35 year olds and get sacked in November. Only for the circle of life to start again

The forgotten man still seems to be forgotten in the eyes of MON.

I'm struggling to see how Watson is getting a start while Yacob sits in the stands.

I read he played well, despite having been unfairly and inexplicably put aside by O'Neill.

If the manager stays, I'm sure he'll come to us.

Interesting that the Watson-Yacob situation remains the same despite an entire new backroom staff don't you reckon chaps?

Any consideration given yet to last years suggestion that Yacob hasn't exactly been the best influence behind the scenes, nor easiest to deal with?

Remember AK was a bit reluctant to play him too at first.

I wouldn't rule out Yacob coming over here yet. The transfer window closes tomorrow night, we desperately need a central midfielder and instead we're bying several wingers and attacking midfielders, which does not make much sense. In theory, we're not looking for a defensive midfielder like Yacob, but the numbers don't add up (we basically only have three central midfielders), so I would not rule this out until tomorrow night.

Hopefully moves on.

Doesn't have the movement to play in Sow's position, and doesn't have the range of passing to play in Watson's position.

Been a very good player in English football, but doesn't have a role in our system.

If there are moves even for Yacob and Hefele, then you're in for a very comprehensive cleaning up of the bomb squad.

So weird that nobody has come in for him because he’s a very good player.

Makes me concerned he’s on a huge wage here as he could easily do a job in this league, Spanish second division, Argentina, even somewhere like MLS or Australia

He'll be so far off match fitness now I expect I would out run him over 50 metres, replacement knees, beer gut and whisky fuelled lack of fitness and all!
I do find it hard to understand why he hasn't figured for so long as when he did play he looked a class act, and he knew how to put some stick about.
Perhaps he doesn't enjoy the best of relationships with the regulars.
Who knows.

Forest did an excellent job of keeping Murphy's suspension under wraps.

Just saying.

Interesting. Good move for him if so.
