Can he play left back?

Really annoys me these young prem players have so much choice about where they go and what they do, for 7 frickin games, at that age they should just be told by their manager where they're going as he'll know what's best for them and if Wenger thinks Forest is best then that should be the end of it.

Very pleased he has chosen forest but I agree, you'd think he was signing a 5 year contract not coming for 7 games. I might of missed something but why has he not been out on loan till now.

Will he score some goals now he's come to Nottingham?

I think this is more important than just the impact Akpom may or may not make over 7 games. Being able to operate effectively in the loan market is going to be crucial for us next year. Getting him in a tough competition with other clubs will both reassure DF that he can do that and send out a message that we are an attractive place to send players to. If the guy scores some goals, so much the better.

Welcome to the main boards, Chuba. :)

Missing out on the playoffs won't feel quite as bad if Akpom does well. We'll have a glimmer of hope for loaning him again next year.

Let's be realistic.

If he does well, he'll be ending up on a Prem loan next season, and we still won't have gone up.

If he does badly it's one in a long line of disastrous loans, and a real waste of time and money in our situation, when we could've been blooding our youngsters.

We're chasing a dream that isn't there to be chased this season.

Or we're laying the groundwork for signing him next year? I highly doubt him playing well for 7 games will guarantee him going to the prem. didn't happen like that for Bamford. With an embargo loans are our only option so may as well try get the best loans available and create links with teams like arsenal!

It's rare though that a player goes back to the same club, eg bamford, was at derby and then went to boro. Prem clubs like them to get experience at different places, we'd be very lucky to get him next year as well, probably wouldn't happen.

He wasn't as good at derby than at boro, that played a part in why he didn't go back to derby. Probably

If we play him for all 7 games and he plays well, we will sign him next season on loan.

I think he will definitely score a hat-trick in every game and get us promoted to the Premiership from which we will win the League and then the Champions League two years running. Just as long as he is as good as the eight year old we signed from Swansea.

I had a dream that he scored ten in seven.

Branford didn't go back to Derby as he would definitely of played second fiddle to Martin. Boro have mainly utilised him as a striker. End of story.

If we were 6 points better off, I'd be licking my lips.
As it is, I'm struggling to get excited.
Improve our chance of picking him up next year? Possibly. But as someone else said, he might be looking at a PL loan then.
Shame the gap is just that little bit too big for us to bridge.
