Chris Cohen conspicuous by his absence.

I was not at the game today but notice our returning hero did not feature nor did he against Mansfield. How concerned should we be? Anyone ITK?

You wouldn't risk him in a game where he's gonna get clattered just yet, would you? Well, subject to what the physio advises - he's not been that long back in full training.

Re: Chris Cohen conspicuousby his absence.

If he was ready, he would've been involved. Might get a few minutes against County depending on the level of hostility.

Re: Chris Cohen conspicuousby his absence.

Just keeping tabs on him I imagine... Ease him into a few games at the start of the season and gradually bring him back.... We did similar ith Dex so I am not too worried....

We will need him though that is for sure, Engine in our midfield and we missed him badly last season...

Re: Chris Cohen conspicuousby his absence.

We're lucky to have got Blackstock back in the same condition after an awful knee injury. I only hope we get the same Chrissy back.

He's hardly played any football for ten months, so his fitness if nothing else is going to be way down.

I'd be happy to see him on the bench for the first few matches of the season; remember it took Dexter a couple of months to get back to fitness enough to play a match, even after it was announced he was back.

Been injured for ages = not pushing back into the first team straight away.

He will be introduced into the team slowly, not expecting him to play too many games out of the first dozen.

Spot on, I wouldn't want himt to either. He will be months behind with his fitness so will need to get that up along with strengthening his leg. I will be happy if he is playing full games near Christmas time....

Looking at our midfield I think we can cope without him, And then depending on where we are at Christmas he can either push us on or try and keep us in this league...

Last thing we want to do is rush him back into action. When's ready he'll be playing.

I always love the way some fans seem to think a player can be out seriously injured for nearly a year, and then almost expect them to be playing every game as soon as they can run again!! Same thing happended last year with Dex.

I am not sure the OP was implying he should be playing every game, More where is he as Friendly games are a good way to up your fitness levels.... Were people expecting Dex to play every game last year? Very strange if they were because everyone I spoke to knew it was a long term project to having him play 90 mins again, same as they do with Cohen...

I think it's the fact Cohen played 45mins against Alfreton then there has been not sight nor sound of him in the three games since they might stir a few people's concerns.

Think we've got enough CM to tick us over with anyway until Cohen returns.

No Findley either, he also wasn't on show against the Stags.

But he is our new number 9.

Hmmmm

Exactly. I am in no way advocating or expecting him back full on but wondered if there was a serious setback that we have not been told about.

I can't imagine where I've seen/heard this as no one else has mentioned it but!, I've heard/dreamt that he has picked up a litle hammy, nothing serious but resting as a precaution.

He'd be better off with a cat or dog, surely.
