No, the point is, that the Athletic have signed up local reporters who already have the relationship with their local clubs, but whose articles were constrained by the editorial policies of their previous media outlets.

Paul Taylor (formerly of the NEP) has provided insights and interviews that he would never have been able to publish in the bland NEP.

Phil Hay, who is a longtime Leeds United correspondent, is also on there, as of course is Daniel Taylor and other heavyweights like Rafa Honigstein.

It’s that the purely-online Athletic gives them a much better platform to write their stories, without restrictions associated with advertising demands and space constraints?

Yes, it’s €60 a year, but for me, it’s the most enjoyable €60 I’ve spent for ages.

Really, you can sucked off in Stuttgart for 25 euro

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
Paid less than £500k for him, so a tidy profit.

Benalouane can step in as a CB , but left back is a concern

I have a feeling we now buy players just to make money on them , Its like they are not bothered if they will ever play much for us they just get them in keep them a few months and sell for a profit.
A way to make money I suppose.

It's certainly a change from buying players for millions, playing them until we realise they're rubbish and letting them go on a free.

Buy a player for cheap, see if they make a big first team impact (like Samba or Sow), if not, flog them on in a few months for three times the price.

What's not to like?

It does point to a shrewd commercial operation in place nowadays, whereas in previous years Forest threw money around like a drunken sailor on shore-leave with little thought to the consequences, recently the club is actually looking, where possible, to generate more revenue from within.

And that means, yes, selling players.

I have absolutely no problem with that, when it generates nice juicy profits, because then those profits can be put back into the club to assure that Forest can compete more equitably with other clubs.

Financially speaking, the way we do business with regards to buying and then selling players at a profit is superb. I just hope it doesn't leave us short though.

Shame because he does seem a good player but a million quid profit after 6 months on your 4th/5th choice CB isn't bad and allows us to bring in an actual LB rather than him covering there, hopefully we've got one lined up.

I liked him, but at least there seems to be some form of strategy...well, we’re certainly turning profits on players at any rate!

Assuming it does get reinvested it's a good plan.

It’ll get reinvested- but not necessarily on players

Amazing too that he will be going to a side looking to qualify for Europe again this season such has been Getafe's success.

Well I hope we do have a few sneaky signings lined up.

Can't imagine Sabri being a wing and a prayer kind of manager so hopefully there's something going on behind the scenes.
