That's the line of thinking I'm coming to. He doesn't have experience, but players that have all of his particular qualities aren't very common and on paper he fits how we play like a glove.
Sit down Ashley…but I agree with you mate!! 😂

The way I see our signings this season is that as long as we re-sign someone of Henderson / Lodi’s quality, then we have the core squad as last year.

That squad finished 16th and has a years further experience. Plus, we were playing pretty well at the end of the season. No reason to suggest we couldn’t improve by signing no-one and staying as we are.

Would I like that? Hell no!! That would be the equivalent of at least 18 days of my life wasted this window (by staring at the Transfer Forum thread).

So, a couple of U21 gambles here and there makes sense. The only way we can do a Brentford / Brighton is to have the occasional gamble. This guy ticks multiple boxes.

I’ve not seen a single solid link for anyone over 20m that wasn’t here last season.

Henderson - 20 / Lodi - 15 / Silas - 15 / Borges (U21) - 10 / Maia (U21) - 10

That would conservatively leave 30m in the kitty. Likely more if we have a clear out. Panzo for 2.5+ suggests our trash might be someone else’s treasure.

I don’t necessarily believe that the Richards account is real (with Selena Williams having the same tattoo), but should he be back, then we have a fair amount left for 2-3 more.

A reserve goalie, a strong DM and maybe a forward (although Silas looks like the cover there).

Not massively overwhelming, but neither was Danilo before he signed.

Nottingham's dirty secret
The more I see of this lad, the more I like.

Him & BJ on either flank would be frankly terrifying.

Saying that- Silas also looks class. So good to sea we've got fingers in a fair few pies.

(County fans- I mean that in a non sexual way).

Yeah there seems to be a theme and I’m all for it. Pace, with an eye for goal. Sign me up. Plus both have a good eye for a pass, which does give us balance.

It’s his instagram account. All the Forest, Reading and Bayern players follow him there.

I don’t think it’s Serena Williams on a windup

A couple of u21s with this potential, and coming from a great infrastructure like City for example, would be very astute signings. But I get the point that £11m a go is quite the risk if the budget is limited in any form.
any signings are risks but the payoffs if it works out can be high as long as you don't depend on it to succeed heavily. Southampton bank on the signings from city since their then chief scout was an ex-city academy scout ,only one have worked out , the other 3 have fared poorly but still young and could thrive in the championhip. A high pressured relegation battle is never a good time to brood in youngsters.

I'm not convinced we were ever properly in for him. A single line in the Athletic and then nothing for the next 4/5 weeks.

Not fussed at that price, he could turn out excellent but it's a high risk for somebody with not a single senior appearance.

Probably worth the risk if it were cheaper.

wasn't our interest reported by espn not the athletic a month ago ? would be a shame as i would prefer borges than cho or elanga.
Can't remember tbh. I would have liked him too. Not convinced by Elanga, and CHO's injury record is horrific.

Does the buy back clause usually have a set fee or does it mean City have first option at whatever price West Ham set?
