2nd round draw of the Carabao Cup happens in about 45 mins.

Round 2 is still regionalised and we're ball 15 in the Northern section

Sadly this means we won't get Spurs away or Tottenham at White Hart Lane this time out

Can we play Derby or are they in the "shit" region?

Must say, out of all the black British managers around at the moment, Darren Moore has always impressed me the most and is very likeable too.

Really hope Sheffield Wednesday get a good draw and do well this season.

I recall going to an evening away game at Grimsby back in the 90s. It seemed like we'd entered a Lovecraftian horror story when we arrived in Cleethorpes, especially after we got a flat and ended up stuck there for an hour or two afterwards. A drab game too, if I remember right. Be nice to go back again :)

Div 1 with Frank Clark!

Teams such as Grimsby, Tranmere and Oxford.

That was a weird season.

Has he singed yet?
Grimsby away! That was one of my first away days that was. Blundell Park was a right shithole, but their pies were spot on.

I have vague memories of the game, most notably a post-match fish supper in Cleethorpes before the drive back.

I'd expect the core of the side to be British for this tie as they will fully appreciate the importance of winning it.

Fixed that for you Frank. 😁

I remember going there one evening, only for the game to be called off, due to a frozen pitch!
Yes,1994-we kept checking on the drive up to be told consistently the game was definitely on (despite the
freezing conditions) and forecast sub-zero night.
Sure enough-we were told by the pub landlord around 7.00 PM that the game was off.
A boozy night in Cleethorpes ensued (as we were staying overnight anyway).

Went there to the last away match of the 93-94 season, a few days after Peterborough. Bit of a dead rubber 0-0 draw. Nice day out in Cleethorpes though. Much better than the couple of visits I'd done with Wrexham, getting ambushed by the Grimsby mob waiting in that pub on the corner with the curtains closed. I remember protecting myself by swinging a traffic cone around and hitting a couple of them.

Can't do it this time though. Going to be in Great Yarmouth from the Monday to the Friday and it's a three hour drive. Was hoping for Norwich or Colchester, but they were in the Southern section.
