Callum James Hudson-Odoi

i'm sure there's a player in there, buried in the lifestyle of the young and rich who has lost their way, this isn't like anthony elanga who has too many players at united blocking his way and he's available for the same price and just a current salary of 5k.
Might be a safer option in more ways than one. I have watched a fair bit of him as my old man is a United fan and I don’t think he is anywhere near the prospect/talent level of CHO personally.

Looking at his injury record, he did his Achilles in 2019 and 2022.

After the first one he performed to the same level in terms of goals and assists. After the second, he’s done nothing of note this season.

Can we risk him doing it again? Certainly high risk.

elanga is one year younger, doesn't have as much experience as odoi but he also doesn't have the injury issues that plagued odoi since 2019. Odoi has lost a bit of that spark and pace that got him noticed so early in his career. During one interview when he was in leverkusen , he mentioned that his Achilles injury was still affecting him mentally and physically after his first one.

I’m fully aware and if you read a couple of my posts on this thread I am not advocating his signing because of it…however I am also not sure how good Elanga actually is.

i'm not advocating elanga either , just a bit wary of odoi injury issues and the mental and physical toll it has on him.

Xabi Alonso has Leverkusen playing a high-energy pressing game with rapid transitions of play, kind of like Forest want to.

Hudson-Odoi could not regularly get into the team of Die Werkself, so I would be very cautious championing him for Forest.

Matt Fryatt springs to mind with this one. Granted he was a bit older and we're under a different regime but we know how that ended.

No thank you. Got his giant contract after being billy big bollocks at Chelsea and threatening to go to Bayern then when he got the contract proceeded to get injured/do f*** all.

Not a signing we should be making even if he is still only 22.

Can't Play Left-Back
I genuinely thought he was the next big thing when I watched his England debut. A really exciting player that seemingly had everything. If we can unlock his potential then amazing. But I get the feeling that he may not realise it, especially if the achilles injuries have f**ked up his pace. Then again if anyone can get him playing, then Steve Cooper can.

Cooper will know him better than any of us tbf.
If Cooper wants him, and especially if he wants to come here because of Cooper, we should try and get him for sure.

This is it really. Cooper will know him as a person as well as a player and if Coops thinks he can fulfil even half of his potential here, then it’s a no brainer.

If his Achilles wasn’t shot it would be amazing. Unfortunately since being injured he’s not the same player.
Completely agree but we would never be anywhere near him if it wasn’t shot

I guess the point is it is worth the risk and can he still be at a level (both mentally and physically) to adapt his game and accept his new level

AC and Lazio sniffing. Infidelity. Unfortunately, I think Nottingham might be the least desirable of the three.
