He just needs an overlapping full back in support - get that right next season and a huge problem solved, since teams are already starting to double up.
Two great goals last night and looked dangerous once he got his tail up.

You're right that he often draws two or three and I think Nuno needs to work on exploiting that better. CHO either holds on to it too long, or it goes backwards, or it's a short pass with no subsequent movement.

In games where we have switched it quickly, too often it has gone to Yates centre of goal (not our best creative outlet), or it has made it to Williams who has been playing well but never seems to cross it when it's expected and vice versa.

These are repeated patterns of play we see 10 times in a game so Nuno needs to be drilling sequences in to the players to take advantage.

He can be devastating when cutting inside on to his right.

I do wish he’d have the confidence to go on his left and whip a cross in every now and again. Even if it doesn’t come off it keeps the defender wondering what he’s going to do. That in itself would offer up more space for him to cut inside.
Have been saying the same for a while.

It is such a thin line between being effective and one dimensional. His ‘cut in and shoot’ is obviously a powerful tool in a 1v1 situation but way too often doesn’t take the chance to cross when in the same position but with the opponents having more cover and instead circles back around…probably highlighting his lack of assists.

My probably overly simplistic take there is that he already is doing - Callum checks back when the isolation isn't on so they can work it right in order to either work it back left again if the space is on, or look to get down the right with Elanga/Williams.

If we can get the CM pairing right we've the basis of a good first 11 but very little after that.

I think the ball is moved that way because it's the obvious progression from professional footballers.

I think it's either not being coached, or not coached well enough, because it's too slow, the wrong players are popping up in the space, and Williams is left with too much decision making of his own.

That's just my interpretation though.

Mind you we struggle with lots of other simple things too, like when working an overlap or heading away corners. Maybe it's just the players.

Chos had a decent season, took him a while to get going but since he has he's been fantastic. Hopefully this season has given him his confidence back and next season he will be even better. 1 criticism though I wish he'd try to use his left foot more, his cutting back is too obvious and any footballer with a brain knows what he is going to do. If he just tried a few crosses with his left then it would put some doubt in the defenders mind as to what hes going to do. Sadly not every defender is as dumb as Bogle 😂😂

I think a lack of established pairings doesn't help. It'll come if we can build on what we have...

Do think he needs to try to go round outside more. He won't come up against an Anel Amedhodzic every week who will happily let him cut inside whilst getting nowhere near him.

Overlapping full back will help a bit but there still needs to be a level of uncertainty for defenders.

Fantastic bit of transfer business. I can't believe Chelsea were willing to part with him for £3m, even with that awful achilles injury.

With the strongly rumoured 50% sell on agreement. Even so, still looks like a great bit of business.

I wouldn’t start him against Chelsea. Give him a rest and put him on second half, 60 mins

That’ll give Chelsea something to think about whilst MGW goes through the middle

Seem to remember him putting a decent cross in with his left foot against City, so he can do it.
