Buying a Forest v Valencia ticket

More info from the club on Valencia tickets
Supporters attending Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Valencia at Meadow Lane are advised of the following essential information.

NFFC, along with Notts County, are keen to avoid a reoccurrence of the issues which led to a delayed kick-off when the two clubs met on Tuesday night.

The main reason for heavy queues at the turnstiles was the number of supporters scanning multiple tickets from one mobile device. Those needing to scan multiple tickets are politely requested to print theirs at home/work, as this will dramatically speed up entry times.

It is also strongly recommended that fans pass through the turnstiles as early as possible (open from 4.30pm) to ease congestion close to kick-off.

It's not bloody rocket science. People are thick as pig shit. First person has the phone and passes through the turnstile and leaves the phone under the scanner for the next person behind. On Google Pay you simply swipe left to reveal the next e-ticket as on mine below.

In 2022, the club expecting people to print tickets themselves, on to a piece of paper, is frankly ridiculous.

There should be no problem using a mobile device for multiple tickets, or Forest should be able to provide each ticket individually to each ticket-holder (because surely, if each is allocated to a specific customer number, there must be a unique email address for that ticket and reference, right?) and then be able to split the order and send each ticket to the email address. And Each ticket should have a scannable QR code on it.

If there is a way to bollocks up ticketing, Forest will find it.

Really? That is ridiculous.

How do the club - as is their requirement - validate who actually is sat in that seat, then, if Mr Plod wants to know? (for example…)

It sounds like - not for the first time - Forest have made a bit of a Horlicks of this.

I just screenshot the etickets and send them around on Whatsapp, we've all got our tickets and then the back up in case a phone breaks

AKIAK, the Customer number is the only Unique Identifier.

It makes it easier for many people where there is one buyer of tickets for multiple people.

It also causes some problems too.

But that's the system.

The only problem I ever get is if I'm using the screenshot, my phone would turn the brightness down by itself. It was so responsive it'd darken in the time it took to put it under the scanner.

Also, I zoomed into it too much once and the scanner didn't like it.

I bought one for me and my lad. They both came through to my email address. I've forwarded his ticket to him so he can add his to his apple wallet

I take it that it won't be on forest player, as there is no option to purchase a match pass. shame that, as I live in stockport (if you call that livin).
would like to have seen a near first team play.

There is no stream from Forest. I saw a tweet earlier said that Valencia will have a stream, but I guess with a local commentary

Am I the only one who thinks that is a bit pap, then?

On occasion (as a Mitglieder, I can get early access to tickets) I have bought more than one ticket to my local side, often when I have a visitor coming to see me (and fancy taking them to see a crack German outfit) I can order multiples of tickets, and I specify the email address for each individual ticket, so that the club then sends the ticket direct to the recipient, rather than all of them to me, which seems to be a cleverer way of doing it?

Or is that just German over-thinking it?

I've never had a problem with it.

Most of the problems I've seen with this is where people were creating new accounts for kids/mates/etc and using fake email addresses then can't access them later because they forgot the details!

Ah, that would make sense.

In my example, most of the „second“ tickets I have bought are for work colleagues who visit me in Stuttgart for the purpose of getting properly pissed important business matters, so I tend to use their „work“ email address, and if they forget those, then God help them.

Don‘t you want to be environmentally friendly and save the trees? Why on earth is the club promoting the printing of tickets on pieces of paper?

I‘m off to phone Greta Thunberg, she will put a stop to such nonsense.

It was certainly helpful for me in the later years of taking my Uncle Wyn. The idea of him having his own email account still gives me shudders even though he's passed away a while now.

Sounds to me like there are two different problems here.

One is you can’t purchase all tickets on one account and have them sent to individuals. As others have said in the thread, this is easy to overcome by sending screenshots on WhatsApp or forward the email on. But no reason to not offer this as an option (with the main purchaser able to access all tickets in case of a mishap)

The second is the inability to cope with multiple tickets on one device at the turnstile. This is a problem at the ground so no Forest’s fault (although no doubt this problem exists at a lot of grounds). It shouldn’t be that hard to come up with a single QR code to allow X number of people to go through the turnstile. Or just allow them to scan all QR codes in one go and let that many people through!

And for anyone saying one option works for some but not others, they could offer some choice then everyone’s happy.
