Brice Lauriche Samba - „Magic Hands“

I have it on good authority that Samba is satisfied with the financial aspects of his new contract, his agent has said he just feels a bit disgruntled about not having a thread on LTLF offering to cup his balls.

This story has obviously come from Samba's people.

He is trying to use the fanbase as leverage.

Personally, I think that's a bad negotiating tactic.

I'd like him to stay, but trying to wedge the fans and club isn't good.

The club will be offering a lot of new contracts out this month. Not surprising to see some sticking with the negotiations - everyone will be keeping an eye on what the others are being offered.

Burnley are massively in the sh*t financially, PP aren't going to touch the sides of what they owe.

On Samba, it is a very weird one. Sounds like they potentially lowballed him with a modest short term deal and he perhaps wants something more long term with better financial security. If he has made up his mind to go though, the aforementioned Pope would be a fine replacement.
If this is true regarding Burnley then Pope might not be impossible...

It's true, they have a huge loan which must be repayed in full if they were relegated. They were, the repayment is due.

Slightly different arrangement but this happened to Huddersfield and most of the £145m they got in parasite payments went to the former owner.

According to this guy, who is apparently the former Press officer at Angers and was the first to call Samba signing for us, Brice is Lens' number one priority signing and they've been on the case for months. Brice's ex-goalkeeping coach is at the club, they finished 7th in Ligue One last year, not sure if that means they have some form of European competition.
I hope Samba doesn’t make a spectacle of himself.

Career wise that would be mental. He might as well go to Rangers.

Very interesting, I'd be shocked if Lens had the sort of money which would tempt us to sell Samba.

End of the day none of us know the full situation. Samba could be holding us to ransom over silly money, the club could be low-balling him completely, it could be all bollocks for all we know.

If he leave though he can be replaced without too many issues for me, whether it's Pope or someone else. It's far from ideal though on a pure squad-harmony level as we've already lost half our squad from last year as it is.

Surely Samaba can be persuaded to stay by Cooper. Why wouldn’t he want to test himself in the Prem.
Give him what he wants!

This story has obviously come from Samba’s agent. Means one of two things:

A) he wants more money
B) he’s been tapped up

I’m guessing B

Freddie Woodman incoming shortly I suspect

Yeah I wonder how much we'd want for him. They'll have some money coming in you'd expect as they'll probably lose Seko Fofana and/or Cheik Doucoure for good money this summer.

I'm certain there is no European qualification for 7th place in Ligue 1.

I can’t believe Samba wants £50k a week.

I mean he’s a great keeper but £60k a week, come on?

At £70k a week that’s outrageous

Etc etc etc

I’ll be sad if he goes but we aren’t going to know the details for a while if ever. So it’ll just be a few weeks of wild uninformed speculation.

Trust Coops, trust Dane, trust the process. It’ll all be fine one way or t’other.
