Blackstock's form

Just seen Dexter's interview on EMT; I knew he was in decent nick but I had forgotten that he'd now scored 5 goals in 6 games.

I believe there were a few people grumbling about him not being the answer, and there was a bit of concern about a lack of goals from up front proving detrimental, even crucial to our chances of survival. I haven't seen all of our games recently but he's looked brighter than our other 'strikers' when I've seen him, and thought that he'd do a bit of damage once he'd had time to settle; fortunately that's been the case.

He's got the same good attitude as usual, whilst he feels at a similar level he was playing to before he's not thinking too much about himself, but how the team is playing as a unit.

I'm probably not saying anything people aren't already thinking, but I think he deserves a share of the praise along with Guedi, Reid, and McCleary.

Has he singed yet?
Yeah, glad he's come back into some sort of form after the injury. With the lay off he had there's always the worry that they won't be the same player they once were.

Best thing about Dex is his attitude and he is generally a really nice bloke.

We might be fighting relegation from the Premiership now had he not been injured. As such Cardiff can double f*** off.

His friendship with Earnie last season and one before really worked on the field as well. Best duo we've had for a while

I did not think he'd make an impact this season after returning from such an injury that he basically had to rebuild his knee.
I am delighted to be totally wrong!

Good striker - not generally that prolific in terms of goals scored and probably better partnered by a poacher.
The goals since his return are a real bonus and long may he continue to hit the back of the net.
Hope he gets a couple tomorrow v Brighton

Dexter Blackstock was kept out of my Championship Manager 2003 team only by the legend that was Anatoli Todorov. He was that good and it would have been about ten years into the game. When he came to Forest in real life, I was chuffed and then gutted to see him injured. We missed him last season and tried to replace him with Kris Boyd et al. He brings us goals.

...but Boyd didn't do bad...

True ... but I hated Boyd's selfish "Me, me, me" kind of attitude. I remember one game where McGugan was just about to take a penalty and Boyd stepped up like the classroom bully and took it off him. That made me not like him lol

Dex has been pivotal - his goal v Leeds was as classy as you get at this level. He gets in the right places, and comes up with the goods.

I'm delighted to have been one of the ones proven right by his form, long may it continue.

Dex is probably our least well known striker* but at the same time probably our most effective.

*McGoldrick doesn't count.

Dex has a proper footballing brain which sets him apart from the other strikers. Nice chap too, glad he's back and enjoying himself.

Quite possibly I love Dexter Blackstock :D

In all seriousness, with the career threatening injury he had, that he's come back in such cracking form speaks volumes for the bloke.

Long may he continue.
