3 years ago I posted a thread about a book I've written and while I expected it to be published MUCH sooner, due to challenges (too many to go into) it's finally coming out on November 4th.

11 of you kindly supported the project and made a donation, in exchange for receiving a book, or a book and a t-shirt.

The issue is the laptop where I stored the list is "blue screened". So if you were one of tbe 11 please send me a private message so I can get your details. I'm in constant contact with one of the eleven.

For any one else interested, the book is available to pre order on Amazon and other sites.

It's being published by Mudlark (Harper Collins) who are one of the worlds major publishing houses. Apologies for the huge delay in publication but it really was out of my control.

No - the Blue Screen of Death - usually denotes a catastrophic failure of the laptop, its not that the screen has just changed to blue - it could be hardware could be software. Doesn't have to mean its absolutely shot and a repair place might be able to fix and if the hard drive is ok they can do a data recovery.

The media publicity is in the hands of the publisher. I've had lots of offers/requests but haven't been able to commit yet.

I'm lucky in that Daniel Taylor has been closely involved since the start, the ghost writer is a very good sports journo and there are one or two others within the industry who will promote it as well.

Looking forward to it coming out, been a long road and one I'll be happy to finally put to bed!

It's already benefitted a couple of charities and will hopefully help more with the royalties.

I too have pre-ordered, but chewapskate that I am I shall read it then gift wrap for my Dad's Christmas present.
Regarding publication date: the last week of September and the first week of October are the weeks when there is a glut of book-publishing by the "big selling" authors, so their books get into the shops well ahead of the christmas spending splurge, and can be in the top 10 for Christmas, even have a chance of topping ther best seller lists.
And with Covid having disrupted so much of life, last year at this time rather than the usual >1000 books usually coming out at this time, there were only around 250 books published.
This year it is expected there will be a comensatory return to the number of books published.
If you are not one of the recognised big, big name authors your book has probably been held back to give it more chance of getting some attention and generating more sales.
I am looking forward to reading your story.

I have just pre-ordered it too as it sounds very interesting and a good story. It says released on 11th here too but when I went to buy the book it said delivered on 16th even though I have prime.
It's not an issue as I'll get it when it arrives but I just thought that you might want to know the dates being reported when ordering.

Brilliant Craig. Some mentions from Taylor and other football journos I guess will really put the book out there to the sort of target audience. The good thing and huge appeal of the book is that Mr Clough was such a character, it is a great story that before the Daniel taylor article the other year had never been heard so it is so intriguing. Also Mr Clough is almost universally liked amongst football fans of all clubs (bar liverpool). Even Leeds fans accept him as a character.

Anyway we are all routing for it.
