Well if some cheeky chappy scouser says it then it must be a good joke...I have a red Scouse mate. He says "Notts" all the time to wind me up. It is clearly the funniest thing in the world. He is after all a natural comedian so how could it not be?
(£1m for Mackie was decent business. £3.5m for Sako would not have been).

Most of the papers and the telly would refer to Forest as Notts Forest when I was young. If you think of it as Nott's Forest as in belonging to Nottingham then there's nothing wrong with it. (Try saying Nottm Forest as a shortening) It's not perfect but personally I prefer that shortening to the Tricky Trees nickname.
He used to when he managed the sheep. Whilst NOTTM Forest manager he used to say either Nottingham Forest or just Forest.I am not that fussed about this
I have a sneaking suspicion that Cloughie would say Notts Forest on TV interviews.:handbags:
Quite a lot of Forest fans care sunshine.Who cares?
