Argentina - who needs Tevez?

...my pick from a hat for World Cup winner (I could win £10 - woohoo!) has started me taking an interest in who they're fielding for Brazil 2014 and I noticed there's probably going to be no Tevez in the 23 man squad.

When you look at the probable team though, including the likes of Sergio Romero, Zabaleta, Di Maria, Alvarez, Mascherano and up front the likes of Higuain, Sergio Aguero and, of course, Messi - will Tevez really be missed?

How do you rate Argentinas chances of winning me £10.... sorry, I mean winning the World Cup?!!

Their achilles heel(s) has always been 1) their defence - they started the last World Cup with Gutierrez at rightback and 2) how they accommodate Messi.

Can't really see anybody other than Brazil or Argentina winning it to be honest. Ze Germans have a decent chance but they'll have to be on their very best form.

Ill be amazed if Tevez does not go to the world cup, and at the back they are suspect Germany ripped them a new arsehole in South Africa but its in South America which is a benifit for them I would back Germany but Argentina is a good bet.

Sabella consistently ignores Tevez as well as Cambiasso and Martin Demichelis.

Brazil have been a bit 'off the boil' for a while now, but even with that said could see an Arg V Bra final. Knowing how it goes though will probably be neither of them and Belgium will romp away with the trophy (even without Bentenke)

Messi hates Tevez and allegedly doesn't want him in the team. If it's a case of picking Tevez or Messi then there's probably only one winner.

Argentina's defence is pretty terrible. They aren't winning anything this year and it'll quarters at best for them.

I hate Argentina with a passion.

They do have some unbelievable talent though. However I agree with Tobias, their defence is pathetic and when games are often very tight and close, that's going to let them down.

I've said from the start the team that beats brazil this year will win it. But fixtures wise it is all set up for a brazil Argentina final

never discount the italians,they've got the measure of brazil and can frustrate argentina too.

I'm half Italian so I would like to see them do well. They are going through a bit of a restructure at the minute though. Not the same side who won ita few years back
