Exciting as all these Brazilian links are, I am concerned that our scout out there might have lost his passport and can't get home!

When on Thursday, a minor outlet in Brazil reported that Nottingham Forest placed an offer of €18m for Santos wonderkid Angelo, we pointed out it’d be better to wait for other sources to back that up.

It turns out that over the weekend, a couple more stories showed up, and it seems the Reds are indeed making an effort to get the winger signed at the end of the January window.

The first was UOL, who have a story saying Santos and Nottingham Forest are actually engaged in negotiations for the move.

It was claimed that with the Reds’s offer being for a loan with an obligatory option, Santos now asked for €1m for the temporary move, and €18m for the purchase, which would be triggered if relegation is avoided.

According to UOL, that was discussed verbally and the Brazilian club was waiting for the offer to be made ‘formal’.

Then it was time for TNT Sports to report something similar, this time sounding a bit more optimistic, saying Santos were ‘advancing to agree’ Angelo’s move to Nottingham Forest.

The financial details were exactly like UOL’s, with them pointing out that in case of relegation, Angelo would be back in Brazil.

With just a couple of days until the end of the transfer window, the Brazilian media should soon bring more news on this case, with it all looking positive for now.

Not sure who this fella is, or how reliable but FWIW.

Unbelievable, Jeff!

Could it be that Brenner is now the target?

We're reportedly in for so many players now I can barely keep up. Tomorrow is going to go mental with rumours and deals, I can feel it in me water.

Nottingham's dirty secret
I can't imagine us getting him and Brenner.

And Brenner scores goals. And he's training alone and no doubt filled with excitement at the prospect of coming here.

I dunno.

Even as a Brazilian, I don't know if I would bring Angelo, maybe on loan. He's too young, fast, good dribbling, but still a bit "raw" to play in the English league.
I doubt there would be any plans to bring him in as a starter

Unless Marinakis has a private concorde I don't see this one happening now:

Forest could, of course, appoint local legal representatives in Brazil to conclude the deal on their behalf; it does not have to be done in England (they could even do the medical there, if they were confident of the results) and then lodge the paperwork (which apparently can now be sent electronically - welcome to the 21st century, and all that) so there is a possibility that the signing could be made without the player actually setting foot over in Europe at this point.

True, just feels unlikely doesn't it? You don't get very many deadline day signings from different continents.
