On the off chance that this lad turns out to be sensational and sets the league alight, can Chelsea just recall him whenever they like mid-season? Or have we definitely got him for the full season?

I believe if you’re paying for him (unsure if it has to be a loan fee or just covering wages) the parent club can’t recall him early.

So in other words, no idea but I’d assume he’s here all season.

Good question: the article I read says he will be with us until June.

Yes, but is that set in stone or can Chelsea change their minds?
a season-long loan is just that, a season-long loan.

Not sure what to think of this signing, he's very young, played very few games, but it a Full Brazil international and everyone is raving about him!

Greetings comrades. I've been missing from the forum a bit, for work reasons.

I, as a Brazilian, have already commented on another topic here. Forest is very famous in Brazil, and there is a lot of sympathy from Brazilians.

It is a market that the club could explore very well, its prestige before us Brazilians.

Andrey is a boy with great potential, with a different profile from other players in the team's position.

He was top scorer and leader of assists in the Brazilian U20 team, voted best player. He looked like a professional player 20 years ago, playing against other kids.

The fact that he has been playing for a long time in Série B is that Vasco (the club where he was revealed) was in the process of being sold and the new buyers vetoed his transfer, until the conclusion of the definitive sale of the club.

Could Forest gain a sizable fanbase in Brazil with all these signings? Wolves are massive in Portugal, for instance, but they have more established Portuguese internationals playing for them.

Two objectives every season for Forest. Firstly stay up - if this guy helps then job done. Secondly strengthen the squad year on year - if this signing frees up money to invest elsewhere then job done.

People moaning that we lost Hendo and Lodi in the summer, but we couldn't afford them last summer and this summer we've replaced them with permanent transfers. Gradual build.

Forest already has a large fan base in Brazil. All of us Brazilians love the history of overcoming the club, which was European champion.

Many Brazilians in games like Fifa, Football Manager, Elifoot, Brasfoot and etc... They open career modes with Forest.

Even before Forest had many Brazilians, the club's games were already broadcast on ESPN Brasil, now with the Brazilians, the number of games broadcast has increased.

I believe that if there are more Brazilians, there will be an even greater commotion from Brazilian fans.

Exactly. Next season we replace Santos with an equal or better permanent CDM and keep building. Nothing at all wrong with using loans like that.

The biggest issues imo are to do with selling. We're going to need to be a selling club to be able to keep within FFP while improving the squad. Its the only way.

As I said somewhere, I think, my bedtime reading last night was "I Believe in Miracles" and Jose Mourinho wrote the foreword.

Well, him being Portuguese and talk turning to Brazil, my strange mind was reminded of his classic comment when arriving at the CG.

"Are you kidding me - this club won the European Cup? Twice?" Sort of sums up both the CG and the enormity of that achievement.

Never fails to get me going.

Jose - as he will admit himself - during Euro 96, made a pilgrimage, on his own, to the World Famous CIty Ground, to see where Forest had built themselves up under Mr. Clough and won two European Cups.

For that reason, I will always like him.

The season long loans complete on the last day of June, in line with the transfer window.

Practically, he'll be with us while he registered.

Chelsea are entitled to put in a recall clause that they can trigger in January.

Can't recall who we did this with, but think it was Tyler Walker at Lincoln?

Similarly, we cancelled a season long loan for Loic Bade and sent him back.

Standard practice.

I have a bit of a soft spot for him too - in his early days he had a glimmer of that Clough magic about him. Clearly a huge influence.

And that he also worked under Bobby Robson at Barcelona, which got him his initial break into coaching at the highest levels.

If you were going to pick two role-models to learn from, Mr. Clough and Sir Bobby would be pretty damn good choices.

Another midfielder, young lad. He played once for the senior Brazil team in a friendly match, he appears to have credentials, so is he going to play for the first team or the U21s?

Sorta. Not what I would term him an attack minded manager. I appreciate his ability to defend 1-0 leads like nobody else, but the offensive sparkle from any of his clubs came from having top players, rather than how he approached the game. And he's a f***ing punk, quite frankly. The eye gouge (from behind, I might add) on Tito Vilanova is one of the most cowardly things I've ever seen any manager do. The shit that forced referee Anders Frisk to quit. Etc. There is a laundry list of anti football shit he has indulged in over time. But he is still a great manager, make no mistake. The number of trophies don't lie, and he obviously has a superior level of intelligence about the game.

Nice guy Bobby Robson. He opened the hospice charity shop across the road when we owned our bookshop in Woodbridge and I had several remaindered copies of his autobiography on the shelf and was tossing up whether to ask him to sign them. I'm sure he wouldn't have minded, but whilst waiting for the crowd to thin out, he buggered off, so the chance was gone.

If I’m not mistaken wasn’t this lad someone we were in for back in January alongside Danilo when Chelsea bought him? I get the feeling we’ve been doing due diligence on him for months since we wanted him permanently. Hard for the lad to turn down Chelsea when they came in as they’re bound to have paid him more than we would have over a long contract. This move feels like getting a player we’ve wanted for a long time and on that basis I’m excited to see him come in, I have high hopes for a big contribution this season. Just a bit gutted we failed for the permanent 6 months ago.

Correct on all counts (including Walker re-call, also did so for Yates (which pissed off the Sadpies)).

Recall clauses aren't mandatory mind. Between the negotiating clubs. The borrowing club usually pays more to secure a loan deal with no recall clause. Even if there isn't a clause in the deal, the player still might get recalled in January if negotiations between the two clubs to end the loan arrangement meet an agreement in Jan.

TLDR: No one will have any idea if he will play whole season here or not, but it's more than likely he will (primarily because he aint getting in the Chelsea midfield this season unless he absolutely takes the Forest steam by storm).
