On the off chance that this lad turns out to be sensational and sets the league alight, can Chelsea just recall him whenever they like mid-season? Or have we definitely got him for the full season?
I believe if you’re paying for him (unsure if it has to be a loan fee or just covering wages) the parent club can’t recall him early. On the off chance that this lad turns out to be sensational and sets the league alight, can Chelsea just recall him whenever they like mid-season? Or have we definitely got him for the full season?
Good question: the article I read says he will be with us until June.On the off chance that this lad turns out to be sensational and sets the league alight, can Chelsea just recall him whenever they like mid-season? Or have we definitely got him for the full season?
a season-long loan is just that, a season-long loan.Yes, but is that set in stone or can Chelsea change their minds?
Could Forest gain a sizable fanbase in Brazil with all these signings? Wolves are massive in Portugal, for instance, but they have more established Portuguese internationals playing for them.

Exactly. Next season we replace Santos with an equal or better permanent CDM and keep building. Nothing at all wrong with using loans like that. Two objectives every season for Forest. Firstly stay up - if this guy helps then job done. Secondly strengthen the squad year on year - if this signing frees up money to invest elsewhere then job done.
People moaning that we lost Hendo and Lodi in the summer, but we couldn't afford them last summer and this summer we've replaced them with permanent transfers. Gradual build.

Jose - as he will admit himself - during Euro 96, made a pilgrimage, on his own, to the World Famous CIty Ground, to see where Forest had built themselves up under Mr. Clough and won two European Cups.As I said somewhere, I think, my bedtime reading last night was "I Believe in Miracles" and Jose Mourinho wrote the foreword.
Well, him being Portuguese and talk turning to Brazil, my strange mind was reminded of his classic comment when arriving at the CG.
"Are you kidding me - this club won the European Cup? Twice?" Sort of sums up both the CG and the enormity of that achievement.
Never fails to get me going.

I have a bit of a soft spot for him too - in his early days he had a glimmer of that Clough magic about him. Clearly a huge influence.Jose - as he will admit himself - during Euro 96, made a pilgrimage, on his own, to the World Famous CIty Ground, to see where Forest had built themselves up under Mr. Clough and won two European Cups.
For that reason, I will always like him.
And that he also worked under Bobby Robson at Barcelona, which got him his initial break into coaching at the highest levels.I have a bit of a soft spot for him too - in his early days he had a glimmer of that Clough magic about him. Clearly a huge influence.
I'd forgotten about that. I'll add great shithouser too!And that he also worked under Bobby Robson at Barcelona, which got him his initI’ll break into coaching at the highest levels.
If you were going to pick two role-models to learn from, Mr. Clough and Sir Bobby would be pretty damn good choices.
Sorta. Not what I would term him an attack minded manager. I appreciate his ability to defend 1-0 leads like nobody else, but the offensive sparkle from any of his clubs came from having top players, rather than how he approached the game. And he's a f***ing punk, quite frankly. The eye gouge (from behind, I might add) on Tito Vilanova is one of the most cowardly things I've ever seen any manager do. The shit that forced referee Anders Frisk to quit. Etc. There is a laundry list of anti football shit he has indulged in over time. But he is still a great manager, make no mistake. The number of trophies don't lie, and he obviously has a superior level of intelligence about the game.I have a bit of a soft spot for him too - in his early days he had a glimmer of that Clough magic about him. Nice guy Bobby Robson. He opened the hospice charity shop across the road when we owned our bookshop in Woodbridge and I had several remaindered copies of his autobiography on the shelf and was tossing up whether to ask him to sign them. I'm sure he wouldn't have minded, but whilst waiting for the crowd to thin out, he buggered off, so the chance was gone. And that he also worked under Bobby Robson at Barcelona, which got him his initI’ll break into coaching at the highest levels.

Practically, he'll be with us while he registered.
Chelsea are entitled to put in a recall clause that they can trigger in January.
Can't recall who we did this with, but think it was Tyler Walker at Lincoln?
Similarly, we cancelled a season long loan for Loic Bade and sent him back.
Standard practice.
