Re: Andreas Buchalakis
He sounds alright? Just because he's a bit slow and injury prone doesn't mean he won't be good.

My positive is I was excited about the Kasami signing, thought he'd be brilliant for us and turned out to be shit. I expect very little from this guy so if he turns out to be good it's happy days!
Kasami was a completely different affair. Extremely talented, but never seemed focused on playing football. Bouchalakis is not lazy; in pre-season training last year he held the highest score in ergometrics for stamina. He's just very slow and injury prone.
I doubt it; about double that amount I would guess. Unless you're only paying for only half his wages (which is not uncommon in the loan deals we make).I see he's only on £3,500 per week

Interesting analysis from GBG.
Looks like we've got another Vaughan/Cohen on our hands. If he's told to sit as a DM and play it simple, he could work. Nobody expects him to play every game, and it means we've got decent £ left over to purchase other midfielders.
Do wonder what it means for the Cash's and Grant's of this world though. One or both, I can see being loaned out.
Certainly no need for panic. What it does mean, and what people should be relieved about, is that we won't be relying on Vaughan/Cohen at the base of our midfield for the vast majority, which can only be a positive.

Fit and proper test my arse.
We made many "low risk" signings last summer. We stayed up on goal difference. Scotland and Greece we've really broaden our horizons when it's comes to finding players.
They need to be good enough for it to be a positive though. Last season we had enough bodies to not have to rely on those two but the alternatives were largely terrible.
what's his passing and tackling like GBG?
We don't need a 'fast' CM - just someone to sit in front of the defenders, break up play and let Cohen/Vaughan be a little more adventurous further forward to dictate play.
His passing is usually very good, and quick; his tackling not so, for lack of speed; his main feature though is what I said in my first post about him: he is good at providing support for the passing game of others. You will never see him passing the ball and then standing still; he will always move to a place appropriate for receiving the ball back; OK, he will move there s l o w l y, but he will.
It's all just to much like last summer.
McKenna could tackle. And wasn't a crock and had championship experience. Not like this pretend, joke of a footballer. 23 appearances.Something we've missed since McKenna.
Thats a start.
