Andreas Bouchalakis

He sounds alright? Just because he's a bit slow and injury prone doesn't mean he won't be good.

My positive is I was excited about the Kasami signing, thought he'd be brilliant for us and turned out to be shit. I expect very little from this guy so if he turns out to be good it's happy days!

Kasami was a completely different affair. Extremely talented, but never seemed focused on playing football. Bouchalakis is not lazy; in pre-season training last year he held the highest score in ergometrics for stamina. He's just very slow and injury prone.

To be honest from the way you have described him he sounds like a mirror image of Chris Cohen, which wouldn't be something I would complain at.

I see he's only on £3,500 per week - meaning he is on next to nothing. Maybe him & Cohen will be used as "one player" or something?

I doubt it; about double that amount I would guess. Unless you're only paying for only half his wages (which is not uncommon in the loan deals we make).

Interesting analysis from GBG.

Looks like we've got another Vaughan/Cohen on our hands. If he's told to sit as a DM and play it simple, he could work. Nobody expects him to play every game, and it means we've got decent £ left over to purchase other midfielders.

Do wonder what it means for the Cash's and Grant's of this world though. One or both, I can see being loaned out.

Certainly no need for panic. What it does mean, and what people should be relieved about, is that we won't be relying on Vaughan/Cohen at the base of our midfield for the vast majority, which can only be a positive.

We don't need a 'fast' CM - just someone to sit in front of the defenders, break up play and let Cohen/Vaughan be a little more adventurous further forward to dictate play.

Although, I'd assume MW would also want a box-to-box type aggressive player as well, so looks like those who wanted 2 CM's might get what they want.

Grant doesn't fit into the same role this guy apparently operates in. Grant is more of a #10/left wing competition for Osborn/Clough.

Jesus Christ, may as well just fold the club. Not a low risk loan signing to provide cover for our central midfield that is a crock, a 34 year old and 2 youngsters!

We made many "low risk" signings last summer. We stayed up on goal difference. Scotland and Greece we've really broaden our horizons when it's comes to finding players.

They need to be good enough for it to be a positive though. Last season we had enough bodies to not have to rely on those two but the alternatives were largely terrible.

Right. We also had a naive manager and sold our best player with no means of replacing him with three days to go.

So if it gets to the end of the window and we sell Britt with no replacement, and we've made exclusively low risk signings I'll join in.

Agreed, but it's only June 28th. Plenty of time.

Lots of panic that we're not signing enough players and that this signing is a sign that lessons haven't been learnt. All seems a bit fuss over nothing to me.

Last summer our first signing we signed a forward in Vellios. Waited ages for a signing and then it was some crap like Thomas Lam.

Sames happened this season we signed a forward in Cummings and then had to wait ages for a crock who not even good enough for olympiacos.

It's all just to much like last summer. Who's with me?

Re: Andreas Buchalakis

what's his passing and tackling like GBG?

His passing is usually very good, and quick; his tackling not so, for lack of speed; his main feature though is what I said in my first post about him: he is good at providing support for the passing game of others. You will never see him passing the ball and then standing still; he will always move to a place appropriate for receiving the ball back; OK, he will move there s l o w l y, but he will.

Im genuinely surprised, having the benefit of seeing these players enough times, we think this is a viable proposition.

Surely the fact we haven't dictated anything in midfield for donkeys is a clue. A team with no pace loses the element of surprise & as has proved historically, allows the opposition to push up because its got nowt to fear.

Something we've missed since McKenna.

Thats a start.

McKenna could tackle. And wasn't a crock and had championship experience. Not like this pretend, joke of a footballer. 23 appearances.

Ok. You be happy with this signing. The signs are already here that it could be another summer like last. You be happy with this quality signing.

Hmmm. I'm not sure about this one. Would Frank and MW be interested otherwise? Can't see it.

Most likely you will like him at the end. I don't believe that Warburton didn't examine him before.
Probably he was offered a list of our players to be loaned and he decided.

So, give this guy a break if you trust your manager.

It's not costly and only benefit you can have. He is a good player with good technique, helps a lot in the passing game and he certainly view this as a step to receive his career. He is also working hard and I think you may be surprised at the end.
He didn't have enough time in our squad because we had other players there. Milivojevic, cambiasso, romao, martins and others. Our midfield was always too crowded

Since you cannot spend a lot, there will be risks. And that should be taken on loaned players
