His goal was the difference today.

Crap game but everyone around us slipped up so I’ll raise a glass to young Alex tonight.

Had a lurk around one of the Sheffield Wednesday forums and a good few were hoping he wasn't playing today....it must be great been a player proving all the armchair managers and players are wrong....despite a good performance against Morecambe

As I’ve said before I really want the lad to do well as in the interviews he’s done with us he comes across as a really good kid.

He’ll certainly get more game time if Moore decides to keep every opponent guessing in regards of both formation and team selection on the day. Today, as with the Morecambe game he was on the left of a 4-2-3-1. Next week Moore may well go back to his favoured 3-4-1-2 again and use him as a second half sub against a hopefully tiring defence…

Either way, Mighten seems to be finally settling into life at S6.

The only way is up.

This season it’s non negotiable.

I don’t mind seeing us battering teams at home. It makes for a good day out but it’s not the same when you’ve only got a couple of hundred or so visiting fans to take the piss out of.

Another 70 minutes on the clock for Alex yesterday.

He got himself involved a fair bit during the first half playing wide left. The second half was quieter, but that applied to the attacking threat as a whole as we suddenly forgot how to keep possession of the football.

He’s not fully hit his stride as yet but I get the sense that he’s starting to understand his role within the side.

Hopefully he’ll get another start next weekend against Mansfield at Hillsborough in the FA Cup. No doubt you guys will be hoping he (and the rest of the side) can produce something the following week when we go to Derby…

Really want to see Wednesday up , I do t have any real affection for the owls , it’s just I loath United so much and it takes a spot away from the sheep.

Would love to see Ipswich up too.

Funny you should say that. I’ve never met a Forest fan who says they’d prefer the pigs over us.

As for Derby. I sometimes have to make deliveries near to their ground, and when that ever happens I also pay attention to see if anyone is milling around the ticket office or shop.

If so I’ll put the window down and shout “You Reds”

Just because I can…

It seems his time at Hillsborough is coming to an end and Moore is sending him back.

He’s done ok in spells, particularly the FA Cup match against Morecambe but ultimately he doesn’t fit into the system that Darren Moore likes.

He’s not a central striker, neither is he a wing back, therefore his time on the pitch is going to be limited, especially when the team is on such a good run of form.

A shame really but probably the best move for us as our main priority has to be bringing in another centre back, especially if McGuinness (outstanding once more against Newcastle) goes back to Cardiff.

Cheers for the info. That's unfortunate for Alex, and means that as he had minutes with us before going to Wednesday, another loan will be out of the question.

If he's not playing at Sheffield Wednesday, might as well offload him to America and get some fee if we can.

Shame - I hoped to see him kick on with you. Hopefully one way or another Alex can find a way to develop over the next part of the season. Given his age I wonder if sticking around our first team might help him, though games won't be very forthcoming.

I'd love for him to be a real success, given he's been at the club since he was 7 and the lad is only 20 but he's not done well in League One for Wednesday, he's played about 40 odd games for us and I just don't see it happening for him at Forest. I'd put him in the same category as Jordan Smith. You'd play him in a pinch, but only in a pinch.

Best thing would be a completely fresh start somewhere else. Just unfortunately because the Summer window ended a month into the season and he's been on loan, he can't go anywhere in England to play now.

If no move materialises, then it'll be the Under 23s for him.

The move to wednesday was a strange one considering they didn't really have use for him as a winger and instead tried to 'rebrand' him

Not sure why we didn't just send him somewhere that actually needed a winger
It was and it wasn't - his dad is good friends with Daren Moore, and guess they took a chance on being able to use him as both (winger or forward). Think Wednesday's tactics have changed a little through the season too like ours, and when chances came he way he didn't grab them.

This. Wednesday was the wrong move for him, doesn't mean he's a lost cause though.

Someone on this forum, can't remember who, said at the time of him going that Wednesday was the wrong move for him because they played with wing backs.

I also remember at least 1 member of this forum saying he could do a job for us off the bench in the Premier League 😆

Yes, it was me.

IIRC, the other options were Ipswich and Hibs. Both play wingers in a 3 behind the striker.
