Let the Russians or the Spanish have it, if they are better than us at corruption and dishonesty then so be it.

I hate the idea of having to have a new ground just so Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini can consume half time vol au vents and slightly chilled chardonnay.

Totally removing myself from a Forest point of view, a World Cup would be brilliant for this country and we have easily the best bid for 2018 but it's just not going to happen.

Completely forgot about that panaroma thing tonight; shall have to record that. It should be an interesting watch.

The Panorama thing won't make any difference to FIFA's decision.

They weren't goiing to give it to us anyway, especially after the Sunday Times sting the other weekend.

Agree with you, Alex, but it's not about the programme being screened for me, it's about why they're having to screen it. Sporting events like the World Cup and Olympics should be given to the country best-prepared to host them, not the one who pleases FIFA or IOC executives the most through bribes, gifts or other things.

To be honest, Lord Triesman cost England big time before he was 'removed' from the bid team. The bloke's an idiot and should never have lead the bid. David Dein should have been in charge from day one.

What you think guys? Do you think Panorama's programme will dent England's chances any further?

personally, I don't give a toss. Chances of us watching any games will be zero. The only people to profit from this will be the corrupt FA and the non-working classes

I'll be hugely dissappointed if we don't get the WC and the substantial associated benefits for Forest. However, I fear this is probably the final nail in the coffin. What I don't understand is why the BBC seemed so behind the bid for the Olympics yet clearly don't give a f*** about getting the WC. Many journalists in this country are self-interested cynical anti-English ****s who want shooting but I am surprised at the BBC, especially for the timing of this programme. Nothing wrong with the BBC exposing corruption but why choose a few days before the vote to reveal allegations that date back 20 years? When are the BBC going to invetigate the allegations that the Daily Mail and the Sunday Times took bribes from our rival bidders?

Gary Linekar left the Mail on Sunday after they 'undermined' the England Bid.

Will he now do the same with the BBC?

heeeey what's wrong with GL?

Apart from being a goal-hanging, crisp-munching, jumper-making, jug-eared, wife-deserting, smug idiot, nothing at all.

You missed out charismaless, aside from that I like your list better than mine in the other thread.

I also forgot that he is one of the original 'ex-sportsmen turned bland presenter' who are used more and more in place of qualified journalists/presenters who might actually ask some pertinent questions rather than subject us to an evening in with their equally bland mates.

Well today's the day we find out if we are staying put, or if we are taking one giant step towards a new stadium!

What really pisses me off is USA which isn't even a football nation had the World Cup in 94 - almost last week in WC terms; yet might be getting it again in 2022, whereas if we don't get the decision today, we, who are THE football nation, as well as having the best stadia in the World, could be waiting at least SIXTY years from hosting it once to hosting it again - if not longer.

And that is not even counting the huge negative failing to get have it will have on our football club. I will be very, very very disappointed if we don't get the nod today.

As Brian Clough said after being interviewed for England boss in the 70s - 'if it's straight, we've got it' - or something like that.

On a level playing field we should get it. I can't see it going to us now, and it will be hugely disappointing when they probably give it to Spain-Portugal.

Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022... It's all about those back-handers!

Dirty rotten politics and bribes! We should have put together a presentation for free on windows movie maker, no celebrities and then paid all the money to the corrupt* FIFA members to win this vote - a disgrace to football. I hope they have as good a World Cup as the last one!
