28 game ban for leg breaker

Horrendous tackle. Unsurprisingly, his club are more bothered about him being banned for so long, rather than condemning the tackle, as managers often do.

Did it break his leg then? Was trying to find the outcome of the injury but a lot of sources were just stating 'Serious Knee Injury'

It was in the Israeli league werent it?

it's not as much the moment the bone snaps that makes me quesy, it's the moment the athlete returns their foot to the floor and realises theres trouble at mill

even at full speed it didn't look that hard a kick but Weidman (in the blue shorts) checked his kick with a shin block and the rest of Silva's leg just flops past - nasty.

surely most folk will remember this one - David Busst for Coventry vs Man Utd - don't worry the video doesn't show the injury in detail but just look at Schmeichel's face afterwards - tells you all you need to know about the injury...
watch

.....for anyone still slightly curious, a couple of lovely pics...

I remember Luc Nilis breaking his leg for either Villa or West Ham and feeling a bit queezy when seeing the photo the next day with his leg attempting to wrap itself the wrong way round the keepers leg.

Yep, that's the one. Always comes back to me when talking about leg breaks in football. There's a strange morbid curiosity with bad breaks, tv will now take the stance of not wanting to show you bad injuries in replays but I like many others will rewind on sky+/tivo and watch it about 10 times before play restarts. I can't explain why, same thing as swan necking at a car crash I suppose.

I'm with you there!
At the UFC fight leg break (above) it was unclear what had happened at full speed so they went straight to a replay in slow-mo and when the full horror was realised the crowd just went quiet and they didn't show it again, probably quickly regretting showing it back at all!!!
