If he does, he wont be on his own.

There'll be thousands.
Supporting a football club, and experiencing all of the joy, pain and frustrations that comes with it, is a non-negotiable lifetime choice. Changing support to another club is simply not an option.

"Thousands" may choose to stay away for any number of potential reasons, but definitely not to take their support elsewhere as you seem to suggest.

Different set of problems this pre-season to last but feels like the end product is going to be the same.
Last year, constant influx of new players coming in, making it difficult to get any kind of cohesion going.

This year, there isn't really any new players but most crucially, we've got quite a few key players out injured so we're having to play players that wouldn't get much of a kick to either make up the numbers or earn them a move somewhere.

You may have lost touch with the generation gaps Oats, which is totally understandable. We all eventually do.

The youngsters want to be associated with football because it's very trendy to be in the top league. Intense targeted marketing have deemed it "life or death" to them. Any fall from "grace" would see a mass exodus, especially if we had a couple of seasons in the 2cnd div or god forbid the 3rd.

Thousands will remove themselves from our arena and associate with another 1st division club IMO.

I know you're being deliberately contradictory Ray, but nevertheless I'll respond.

There are three generations of Forest fans in my immediate family. Were we to drop-out of the Premier League, even, god-forbid, down to League One again, it wouldn't even remotely occur to the three of my grandkids (aged 22, 19 and 14) who are Forest-mad to consider changing their affiliation to another club, let alone their fathers/my sons. The thought of that is laughable, and they're typical of their generations.

Obviously, if you have any, I wouldn't dream of assuming that your kids and/or grandkids wouldn't jump ship in those circumstances.

I'm part of 4 Forest mad generations, and you're right, they are entrenched Reds, who been through it all and would never pull away.

BUT there are thousands of "new" fans since we moved into the 1st division (great news), I just cant see them doing the same, should we regress. Some will but many wont IMO.

Let's just hope we stay in the top flight and it wont be an issue anyway.

U Reds !

I think this is an extremely inaccurate portrayal of Forest's young fans.

We've all grown up with Forest being a shit second tier club, and stuck with the club through that. Some, like me, only knew Forest as a lower-league club, for 20 years.

We wouldn't be Forest fans in the first place if not being in the Premier League is a problem for us.

I'm looking forward to watching the Forest TV live stream of tonight's game.
It will be a perfect stream... no breaking up, no jittering picture, and the commentary will be even better than colin Frey on RN.
And anyway, who needs new players?
In the 1960s we built our success on 11 professionals who stuck with us for years.
That was team spirit and committment to NFFC.
No need to kiss the badge; no need to have massive pile--ons after a goal; no need for group hugs before kick off!
I live in my own little world, but it's OK: they know me here and make allowances.
