Welcome to the 23/24 PREMIER LEAGUE Pre-season thread.

Now we are a fully qualified member of the Premier League will we be invited to the Audi Cup? Maybe the Soccer Stars Tour of the US? Or just a kickabout with Olympiacos again? (At the City Ground this time please)

"Audi Cup winners, you'll never sing that!"

In all seriousness, a decent European side at home (I'd include Olympiacos in that) would be nice.

We'll do a warm weather camp again in July, I'm sure of it. I'd imagine it will be in Greece again, but maybe we will revert to Portugal now we have the Brazilian group?

Not too fussed where we go, but no more "home" friendlies at Meadow Lane please. I was wholly disorientated.

Would love it if they came back to Spain for selfish reasons as I live here. Got to see them twice this season, which was an unexpected treat.

As ever, I’ll be hoping for a preseason friendly against crack German outfit, VfB Stuttgart.

I think an annual summer game against Olympiacos for the Big Man Cup is a lovely tradition. Proper first half, then mix the teams up for the second.
The Gil Dias trophy.
The Kebap Cup, sponsored by Mythos.

„Big“ Evangelos to organise a raffle, the winner gets the chance to keep up with him in a drinking competition (and lose, badly).

Forest should have Mythos on draft at the WFCG. None of this piss-weak poncy Carling shite.

Now swapping out Carling/Madri for Mythos is one bit of business this summer I can definitely get behind!

I'd just like us to play someone in Europe which is an easy flight to get to and spend a nice couple of days away doing so! Shouldn't really ne that hard! I always think Forest miss the boat pre season with reaching out to other geographical areas.

Btw, nothing wrong with Madri! Although not possible sitting in lower Bradford now, Forest decided to give just the away fans Madri and for some bizarre reason stick with Carling for home fans! Thank god we were asked to complete a survey asking on our opinions of the catering facilities! Falling on deaf ears springs to mind!

On the subject of Mythos, I have been in München all week for work, and last night, one colleague suggest a local Greek restaurant of his acquaintance for an evening dinner (as you do, very big on team-building these Germans) and the food was frankly superb, and they had Mythos beer as well, which I availed myself of.

I had a Gyros with Tatziki which was fantastic, and a few Mythos.

And the restaurant had a plastic shark hanging from the ceiling (no, me neither) but it was cool anyway:

Give it a year or two more of Premier League football and you can kiss goodbye to pre-season in the Algarve or Greece.

It'll be playing Brentford in Hong Kong before going down to Melbourne to face Bournemouth.

Hoping EM wants to show us off to his ancestors and takes us to Heraklion. I'm on Crete for a month July/August.

I reckon they ought to come down Home Park and play the newly promoted Argyle. Last time they did was when we sold them Paul McGregor. Good day. Got a bit blurry later on, though, with beers down the Hoe

Madri is just a marketing man's concept beer. Its never been anywhere near Spain, and is largely brewed in Tadcaster, near York.

Take some piss, give it some poncy European sounding name, and let the hipsters lap it up. Any self-respecting Spaniard would never go within 5 miles of it!

Heard we'll be playing PSV, not sure on the venue though.

I would love to see us play Olympiacos at the City Ground. But I've got a soft spot for Union Berlin as well.

Typically, we only get the one home friendly but sometimes two.
  • Valencia would have been last year, if it wasn't for the renovations.
  • It would have been Burnley in 2021 but either us or them had a bunch of COVID positives.
  • Nothing in 2020 due to COVID.
  • We had Palace and Real Sociedad in 2019.
  • Bournemouth in 2018.
  • Girona and Burnley in 2017.
  • Hull in 2016.
  • Swansea and Villa in 2015.
  • West Brom in 2014.
  • Royal Antwerp in 2013.
