I can't remember that at all, I remember it was a grim day and their was an uneasy atmosphere around the ground.

Two feet into Beresford's chest and a straight red. Hard to argue with the decision.

Perfectly good challenge in my book?

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
Notice how the player gets back up without much fuss. Nowadays they’d have to amputate on the spot!

I’d forgotten all about Laws being sent off. Oddly I do remember their flags celebrating record number of years holding the FA Cup due to the outbreak of world war 2. Horrible place and horrible people. Can’t believe my son spent 4 years at uni there about half a mile from their ground.

I was only 10 at the time and went to Wembley 2 times in 2 weeks and thought it was normal. Especially having seen us there the year before.

I mostly remember it due to quite a few very arrogant opposition fans in our end. One hyperactive little shit in the seat ahead was waving a big Man Yoo flag in front of my face most of the game and kept shouting with no concern of what was around him.

If I was older I probably would have said something but in the end it was probably a blessing in disguise as it was a really poor game.

An 18 year old Ryan Giggs was by far the best player on the pitch and I shat myself every time he got the ball. He also set up the winner.

I was a bit confused by Marriott being named as goalkeeper but never knew the reason why. I thought he might become our Number 1 after that and Clough had chucked him in to see if he could cope with the big occasion.

Walked to the temporary bogs at half time and as I neared the entrance a Man Utd fan walked out smirking like a f***ing loon ago so I felt compelled to twat him.

All over the concourse Forest fans were having open season on them.

Crazy day

It was.

There was about a dozen of them cowering surrounded by police when we walked down from our block, some with bloody noses. Inside the stand there were boots and fists going into them at will.

We had it bad on Kilburn High Road before the game though, we got done proper in my opinion.

I think I've told this story before, we took a lad with us that was studying Football Hooliganism for his Sociology degree. Never saw him again in person after that, he looked terrified most of the day.
Phoned him some time later and he got his qualification with flying colours

What amazed me was they never even tried to hide the infiltration... either stupidity or arrogance and then when they were found out the arrogance came through.... im not one for violence unless its needed but they got what they deserved

Indeed, they were strutting around like it was us that were in their end. Plus I think there was some payback for what happened in the FA Cup Quarter final at their place.

Both went in 2 footed. Always thought it should've been a double red card.

The footage shows them inbreds invading the pitch at the end. It doesn't show the Southern scumbag police keeping us in the ground for 20 minutes with bloody great Alsatians pointed at us whilst they celebrated and invariably started to bait us. Could easily have let us walk out the ground as all their idiots were on the pitch.

I still remember walking back into the concourse at half time to a massive roar, and hundreds of Forest lads sprinting to where 20 or 30 of the scum were huddled together. It's not my cup of tea but that was one time where a good kicking was fully deserved. It was odd how many were in our end, and just how blatant they were about it.

Don't remember much about the game. I do remember seeing Man U fans attacking a mini bus of Forest fans after the game and it driving over the middle of a roundabout to get away.

Coming out after the quarter's at their place was fun. We were towards the front walking down the street when small pockets of Mancs suddenly appeared from the side streets. The mounted police kept sending them back but as we got further along the road they couldn't cover all the side streets. Fortunately we were walking with a group of Mansfield lads who were only too pleased to assist the police in dispursing the attackers. I can still picture one lad flying over a small wall into the front garden of a small terraced house. The family sat around the telly were in total shock.
The problem we had was that we had to turn off through their crowd to get to the car. It was a case of heads down and looked pissed off until we got back, that walk that was one of the longest ever :)
