Financial Fair Play (FFP)

Sauce salad?
What I will say is that I do love watching the likes of MGW, Danilo and CHO, so the money aspect is double edged - can't imagine the game/coaching would have come on to the point it has without all of that horrible cash. I feel dirty.

Hard to disagree. 23 years ago (or rather when we went down under Cloughie, so even further back) I hated the money aspect and thought it would ruin the game. And here we are.
It’s hard to get enthusiastic about a game where the league champions every year are more or
less decided by the amount of money you have-I can’t understand people jerking themselves
into a frenzy over Klopp,Pep and Arteta.
How good would they be if they had to take over at an ailing mid-table 2nd Division club
with no money?

The answer is, of course, not as good as Cloughie.

Money makes the world go round. But in sport it's all entangled with embarrassment about just how much is slodshing around and naked attempts by, in our case UEFA and FIFA, to increase the money coming with no improvement in the actual sport.

I listened to John Rahm this morning, the golfer who held out of the Saudi gof sports washing thing and stayed with the PGA (or whatever it's called) and now he's accepted a vast amount of momoney to play for LIV golf. During a longish interview not once did he mention he did it for the money, it was all rubbish about improving the game etc!!

I’ve got this philosophy that money has ruined many sports-football,cricket,rugby union
and golf amongst them-football more than most though.

See, I can take that, there’s always big guns in every league.

What I’m struggling with is that as soon as we find a prospect, someone who gets us out of our seats, someone with a twinkle in their eye and a bit of magic in their boots, we have to sell them. I know we’ve seen this before with Keane and SVC etc. but it seems so much more accelerated now.

We can’t have hero’s anymore and to be honest, isn’t that what football’s all about? f***ing depressing.

Isn't this all headed for massive law suits? If Everton don't get relegated this season, whoever does will surely sue the PL on the basis that charges against Everton -- and thus further deductions -- have not been processed (as was promised) within this season. Say, for example, that Everton finished 2 points ahead of us so we went down. Everton then get a delayed 3 point deduction next season which they should have go this season. We sue for damages. The whole thing goes into meltdown. It all just seems completely farcical.

Bin VAR!
Bang on Bobby - Brennan should be playing for us, grealish for villa etc. Seasons not even done yet and we’re already talking about cashing in on MGW and Murillo to meet some bullshit rule. I want us to build a team, not build a team for the 6 twat clubs!

Boston United? Didn’t they once enter administration at halftime during the final game of the season to evade a points deduction the following year?
They've got a new ground now, so they are doing something right. Just looked they did go into administration years ago and got relegated 2 divisions.
