Why is Sangare the one copping the flack here? He didnt do too badly when he came on, played a good couple of passes. Think he lost the ball poorly once and picked up a daft yellow out of frustration when they were running the clock down but that was all. I hope he starts next game, there were far bigger issues than him out there today

Yes, but it has been an awful long time since we had several players in a side capable of scoring 10 a season. Probably going back to the Frank Clark days.
well , under pearce , it was assambalonga and antonio, under ak and sabri, it was lolley and grabban but under cooper , once promoted, same issues as this season, ultimately, not enough goalscorers in the team. soft center in defence and shooting blanks upfront.

Probably because he's our record signing, supposedly on the radar of many European money clubs (although interestingly none of them actually made a real effort to sign him), yet has provided nothing tangible in return for the extraordinary time and expense involved in recruiting him. As I wrote earlier, I think unfortunately (and no doubt somewhat unfairly) he's become the embodiment of so much that is going awry at the club this season.

Completely agree with this

Yes, unfortunately people will look to the record signing to be the main man to drag the team through tough games. But is this the fault of the fan?

He's played in the Champions League, he's a fully established international. But we all know football doesn't work like that.

The pace of the Premier League is clearly troubling him. I said earlier that Nuno sold Mangala, but this is also on the recruitment team who identified Sangare for £30m as the man to take us forward and sold Mangala (who was looking like a very solid Premier League player) for £30m.

Should have just stood still and done nothing?

What was the general mood like with rest of the travelling fans?

Any calls for Nuno out etc?
Didn't hear anything. Lots of frustration with the initial team selection...too negative, not quick enough etc.

Glaringly obvious as the game went on, that we needed Elanga on, to give us some speed down the wing. He should have been on from the start but then we aren't privy to any injury/fitness backstory.

Poor performance today, but just watched MOTD and not only was it a clear sending off, but the free kick the lead to the goal shouldn't have been given. So the ref/ VAR has cost us at least a point again.
We had the same thoughts from the stands. Even thought the pass out to the Brighton lad may have had him offside but no benefit of a replay.

Last season Brighton were a better team than this season and finished 6th.

Since then they've sold their 2 best midfielders Alexis MacAllister and Moises Caicedo in the summer for big money. They sold their goalkeeper Sanchez to Chelsea.

Forest's results against Brighton last season were:

(H) - Won 3-1
(A) - Drew 0-0

I don't think people are expecting wins but they're expecting a bit of fight. We've lost both games against Brighton this season. It's no good people talking about 'winnable' games or not expecting to beat Brighton or Liverpool. Last season we beat both. Every game is winnable or loseable. It's how players approach it on the day and if they want it enough.

Summed it up perfectly!

It should have been pretty obvious to most, from the minute we achieved promotion, that the next two or three seasons would be spent trying to retain our PL status.

When it became apparent that achieving this wasn’t going to be deemed good enough for the owner or a small element of the fan base, It never occurred to me that the expectation for the new manager would then be to only be judged on games like Palace at Home and Luton away.

No calls for Nuno out that I heard.
General apathy in the stand after they scored.
A bit of coming together between fans at half time on the concourse.

For me it’s Yates. Nottingham through and through, but like Worrell he is simply out of his depth at this level. His pass accuracy is 17% according to the stats. That means only 1 pass in 6 gets to its target. He is also 3rd in the league table for fouls. He has no goals in the PL and don’t remember any assists. For midfielder these are terrible stats. He’s a massive liability running around like a headless chicken, putting his arms around everyone and tripping them up. He is the weakest link.

I think folks need a scapegoat and unfortunately Sangare is in their sights. I’m in agreement with you that he went alright given how little game time he had
Sangare cost >£30m therefore must be good.
My old Granny was always getting ripped off because she believed the higher the price the better the quality.
The price merely reflects the neediness and gullibility of the buyer.

Moder? Yes should have been a sending off, but one of your players could have gone for 2 'bookable' fouls in first half. Think we just about deserved the win as could have been 2 or 3 up at halftime. Ref was shite for both teams, he was in charge of game last year against Spurs when he and var gave 4 var decisions against us, 3 were incorrect and 1 debatable and we got an apology. It's not corrupt, they are just poor doing their job. You were better than last year when you were simply the worst team I have seen in the prem, one shot which went for a throw in. We are in poor form at the moment, but with 6 players out, we are struggling and Europa league is taking its toll. Good banter and beers with your fans before and after and no homophobia like the home game and real good fans. You will survive, there are at least 5 teams worse than you, Burnley, Sheffield United, Luton, Everton and Palace. Onwards on
Upwards and you will be ok.

Totally agree. He seems to think he is adding value by fouling everyone or pushing people in the back after they have passed it. When he does get a gilt edged chance to score he always misses the target. Championship player.

The frustrating way Brighton managed the game in the final few minutes of added time shows just how ludicrous a decision it would have been for the referee to stop the game and hand possession back to Sels so we could turn defence into attack. And yet this happened against us.

I'd go with this. His dart ark mastery in defence and attack while useful, really isn't enough at the top level. Players in the Prem can see him coming a mile off and it's an easy cheap clumsy foul waiting to happen. I feel he'll always be held back technically.

It didn't help yesterday that Nuno had tasked not just him but also Dominguez and Danilo as cover in front of the back 4. It was so congested in there in a blatantly unfamiliar system.

Big three games for us now. It will make or break our season in my opinion. Luton away, then Palace and Fulham at home. We need to not lose v Luton and pick up at least a win and draw at home.

I’m guessing for you it is a case of the distraction of Europe and a few key injuries derailing your season slightly.

Good look for the season.

So it's the fans fault for talking about relegation?
The team and the manager are approaching games like relegation has already been confirmed.
Sangare doesn't want to be here - that much is obvious.
Gibbs-White is totally pissed off with us - he came because of Cooper, and he will leave in the summer because this is not what cooper promised.
Referees totally pissed off with the slating they get every week from Forest.
Loaned-in players can't get a kick at their contracted clubs, and Forest isn't their destination of choice.
Nothing is changing from week to week now.
The players have thrwon in the towel and Nuno probably has a release clause in his contract if we do get relegated.
And he never seems to look like he wants to be here.
Come on Cap'n. I know that you know the importance of manifested reality - getting back from the Universe what you put in.

Or, is it a cognitive dissonance at work reading the matchday thread comments of 'COME ON FOREST' from the same people that then scream 'WE'RE GOING DOWN' at the final whistle. I mean, who are they talking to if not the Universe(?). Akin to people reaching out to dead relatives on Facebook - 'happy heavenly Birthday Dad', and sending RIP's on social media. Who is this for exactly?

See, can only speak for me mate, but I make no apologies for looking at expensive signings and expecting more of them myself.

Their ability to hit the ground running should be factored into their price. If the negotiator isn't using that as an angle to bring the price down, then he's no negotiator. British talent usually costs a Premium here because it's generally recognized that if you're familiar and conditioned to the British leagues and culture, then settling at a new club will be easier and quicker.

Sangare may become a great player, but did we really spend 37m on a player to get us out of the Championship? No.

I'm all for giving players time, Awoniyi proved the rewards that can reap, but I also totally get the anger at breaching FFP/PSR for big money signings who aren't ready to perform for at least half a season. It is, yet again, poor recruitment.

What on earth are you talking about? He put up 95% pass success yesterday and hasn't put up less than 75% all season

Much confusion, dissolution, all around me.

I did like your post, btw, I just needed to go into a dark room with a damp towel over my eyes, and an Eau d' cologne tissue over my forehead.
On the edge of the inside i'd say - our very own liminal being. Aye-ree.

Now then, now then... people quoting wildly differing statistics (without quoting the source) about the same player and technical abilities is not allowed on this Forum.
Ryan has 100% pass comletion, 0% fouls conceded in 100% tackles won. (Source: Encyclopaedia Britannica).
That's put that one to bed good and proper.
