I’m a bit fussy where I get them from. It’s very much worth it to pay a bit more from a decent butchers. I always go to Barlows in Giltbrook and get the one that has a topping of Stilton.

I do t mind a pork pie, obviously a decent one from the butchers. I’ve never had one warm though. Is that how other people eat them?
My Grandma from the other side liked tripe. I’ve genuinely never tried it. It’s bleached stomach lining isn’t it? Why would you chose to eat that shit? When I worked as a photographer at Leeds University I had to create an audio visual presentation for the Animal Physiology dept. From animals being born right through the life cycle to slaughter houses, tripe works, sausage skin production, fell mongers, absolutely everything. Definitely put me off pies of any description for quite a while.
The smell from the tripe works stayed with me for about a week.
Kangaroo and vegemite?Nothing beats a good ol hot Aussie meat pies. Simply delicious
AnimalBrown sauce - has to be brown sauce - HP or Daddies only
When I was in Oz I was so keen to try an Aussie pie to see if they were was good as I'd heard and they were good but no better than a late night Sando's or Pukka from the chippie back in the dayNothing beats a good ol hot Aussie meat pies. Simply delicious

It's a hill I am prepared to die on - there is no finer condiment in the world and lets not forget HP was created by Frederick Gibson Garton who had a grocers on Milton Street in Nottingham.Animal

Iirc, the last time I had a warm one with mushy peas was in Hessle. But Yorkies like a warm one one, I think.

Oh a long time ago - it was '89. I was based in Brisbane but worked as a lumberjack for a time in a place called Kenilworth and did some labouring when they were building out Cairns Airport, then did a tour and took in Melbourne and Sydney. Surfed at Noosa and dived the GBR. Good times. When were you down here
