I'm not comparing our performance to that before the manager change, just judging on the merits of the game itself.

And it demonstrably wasn't the worst lineup we've fielded since promotion given we had games last year where it was Williams, Cook, Worrall, McKenna, Colback, Dennis etc.

Anyway, I'll ask again: You laughed at what I took from last night's game so I'll ask you to name one really strong positive. Just the one.
Danilo's performance. You will no doubt disagree but I think you're wrong.

You’re not judging on the merits of the game at all. Your ignoring that we look significantly better as a team even with half it’s first choice players missing. We don't sit in our own half, giving the opposition large amounts of possession, we actually try to take the game to the opposition and give the opposition something to worry about, we try to create multiple chances. We have looked on the whole awful away from home since promotion. Now we don’t.

No I'll take that, I thought he was better than he has been recently but then I might have alluded to him potentially being better when he had two holding midfielders behind him (rather than him being part of the two) which gives him more license to roam.

That said, do wish he'd played closer to Wood. Think we missed a genuine #10, but appreciate that was likely a tactical choice to have him as an 8 rather than Danilo not being able to play the 10.

We didn't create many more chances yesterday. We scored a wonder volley and from a wide cross. We never really stretched Brentford in the final third hence the constant cutbacks from CHO and Dominguez, hence us not having a shot on target in the final fifteen mins despite trailing.

We make the same defensive mistakes as we have done all season.

I think we have looked better under Nuno and I'm cautiously optimistic, but yesterday wasn't the reason for that. You won't win many games playing like that and the manager would soon get the sack if it's repeated frequently given it would be a fast track to a relegation battle.

He's gunna get the sack anyway, don't worry about that. As sure as night follows day, just a matter of the next bad run.

Our messiah owd Marrymeknakkas has laid the ground rules.

I thought we were good for at least one more goal - Mangala had one clear cut and a couple of solid opportunities, there was a cut back to Wood (possibly in one of the Mangala moves?) that if played in front of him might have lead to a good opportunity.

Regardless, I think yesterday was more a case of not being able to effectively switch things up - add one of Elanga, Morgan or Taiwo to that bench and we win imho.

I honestly don't think your original match summary was unduly negative.

I understand the impatience with our 'pass, pass, pass' style when we have the chance to whip a cross into the box but end up going all the way back to the keeper. Good for possession stats but almost like we're scared to risk the other team having the ball because they're more dangerous with it than we are.

However...we have learnt to set up chances for shots from just outside the box. Danilo's wonder strike was created by a defender's miskick, but in the second half we created two chances for Mangala, both laid back to him by Wood, which would have been superb goals if they hadn't flashed the wrong side of the post. Not to mention his outrageous backheel flick which went into the side netting.

So the patient build-up does have an end product. We could mix it up a bit more, but the signs are good overall.

It wasn't meant to be.

I enjoyed the game, I thought we worked hard under difficult circumstances and probably deserves a draw.

I just don't buy the 'we were really good and everything is wonderful' response. We weren't. If we were we would have won because Brentford were there for the taking.

Full strength Forest probably do win that game for what it's worth. We were absolutely crying out for MGW who could have injected a bit more speed to our play in dangerous areas.

Regardless of Tony I can see that side getting pulled into things. Poor, and a shame we had so many out.

As an aside Keane Lewis Potter hasn't progressed particularly well, though I suppose he's being used in a different role.

That was more of the chances falling to Mangala more than anything else. Defensively at crucial times we where poor as we have been all season but for differing reasons. Previously it’s because we where always under so much pressure, eventually someone was going to make a mistake. Last night the free kick was a whole brain fart for the team. but last night you’ve got to allow some leeway for who was available, we’ve got 3 centre half’s out and 2 full backs out and are playing with two young centre half’s, one making his premier league debut.

If you objectively don’t think we played pretty well last, taking into account who was actually available, then I’m not sure your being honest with yourself. Maybe you go back and read your own match report from the Tottenham game.

No need to question my honesty when I'm the one trying to be balanced and offering some insight where the game was won and lost, but let's just agree to disagree.

I was and still am extremely angry at the Phoney Foamy ToeKnee incident. It also really pisses me off that people compare it to Toffolo. Well I don't believe Toffolo bet on matches he played in himself AND he has shown remorse and worked to help others. Chalk and cheese with Phoney Foamy ToeKnee.
I think I will have to stay off the socials for a bit until I've calmed down. I hope never to see such a cheating b"stard in an England shirt and may he injure himself in training (but only after a possible ban for his latest action).

Think Toffolo admitted he bet in games his team was involved in but the main difference is that it was part of accumulators he was putting like 25p a go on, so it didn't look like he was deliberately trying to influence the outcome of those games.

Considering everyone claims to be sick of all the Toney talk there’s a lot of it on here this morning!!

He’s a bellend but he’s a good player. I thoroughly enjoyed the piss take chanting for the opening 15 minutes but he got the last laugh

My overriding emotion remains annoyance that the most irritating team in history have done us again. Their Duplo stadium, the OAP from the local village hall bridge club announcing the teams 16 times over the PA system, the school disco light show pre kick off, the cheese-fest walk-on video for Ivan “The Gambler” Toney’s return of the Messiah moment (he’s not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy), some bloke (probably named Sebastian or Quentin) telling us to shhhhhhh wearing his half and half scarf, jug-eared Smug-faced Thomas Frank chewing on his seemingly never ending gobstopper….

Brentford Brentford Rah-Rah-Rah. Hate them!!!

…and we’ve let them beat us again!!!

Thought the performance had plenty of bright spots considering the state of the squad. We deserved and should have taken something from the game. I remain encouraged by Nuno-ball and think we could become a good side under his stewardship

Positives

- First away Premier game shared with my daughter
- Danilo finally resembling the player that could net us £60m at some point down the line. Thought he was great last night with the goal the cherry on the top
- “Andrew” - seen enough over two games that he’s one to keep some faith with. We do need some experience and aerial prowess alongside the likes of him and Murillo but reasons to think we’ve found another rough diamond to develop
- Wood continues to deputise well. Get him the ball in the box and he delivers. Shame the Chrissy-Chrissy-Wood chants were cut so short when their third went in

Negatives
- CHO - Wood assist aside he continues to show only fleeting moments and needs to contribute more
- Concentration levels. I’m sick of us to totally switching off as a collective at dangerous moments in the game. The Toney free kick should have been spotted not least by Turner who should be checking his wall, checking, checking again. It wasn’t the only time, first half Brentford almost got Ivan the Terrible the freedom of the box whisky our lot were “busy” complaining to the ref. There was a quick throw first half that put us bang in trouble. Maybe due in part to lack of regular Captain and clear leadership on the pitch. That and shite keepers.
- Shite Keepers - We can’t keep conceding 3 goals per game but we will with the Chuckle Brothers between the sticks

Turner (5) Can’t kick, doesn’t command his area but stuck with him
Montiel (6) Pretty steady overall
Tavares (5) The good is sometimes very good (second half run with showboat turn), the bad is very bad (completely missing a routine pass when we were in prime attacking position)
Andrew (7) Good league debut. Not perfect but did most things well
Murillo (6) Love him but I think we’ve reached a point where we are clear on his weaknesses which means so have our opponents.
Mangala (7) Cool, calm, classy….until it’s time to shoot!
Dominguez (7) Boundless energy, brings a bit of everything to the side most games. Decent again.
Yates (6) Solid until he got crocked
Danilo (8) Best game in what feels like forever. Incredible goal, looked powerful and dangerous driving forward. More of this version please.
Wood (7) Another honest shift and quality finish. Can’t ask much more from this fella at the minute
Hudson Odoi (5) Can ask for much more. Has got quality as his cross for Woody showed but isn’t impacting games anywhere near enough. Dangling his leg at the Toney free kick was pathetic.
Subs - Williams (7) excellent, Christina (5) not much chance to shine

Did I mention I hate Brentford?!
End.
