Raya's loan will become permanent at the end of the season. It's an FFP thing like the Wood transfer from Newcastle.

I think Turner is fine as a number two personally. Let's not forget Arsenal arguably should have won the league with him as their second choice.

Ramsdale I would have without a question but I don't think Arsenal are in for selling him, I think Raya is only on loan isn't he so there's the possibility they won't be keeping him after this season, and in which case they will probably go back to Ramsdale.
Hard to tell, Arteta is under a bit of pressure and I’m sure he’s wanting to blow a wad of cash on Ivan Toney. Ramsdale, Smith Rowe, and Nketiah could be his means to fund that move.

De Gea would be an upgrade obviously - though I doubt we could afford his wages and he doesn't seem particularly in any rush to get back into football. He's also very much an instinctive keeper who will hang back and react on his line rather than dominate his box so wouldn't suit that perceived need - even if his shot stopping is undeniably exceptional.

Would be surprised to see Navas come back and at his age would only be a stop gap anyway. Very much think he'll be heading back to South America soon and he's been injured a decent chunk of the season so would potentially be a fair way off match sharpness.

Ramsdale on loan could be a realistic shout as he'll be desperate to play with the Euros looming on the horizon. Don't think he'll be too short of options though and I doubt we'd be the most enticing offer.

Gareth Crooks has 4 Forest players in his team of the week. It includes Turner!

His conclusion?
"Matt Turner makes my selection for two outstanding performances away at St James' Park and at home to Manchester United.

The American lived dangerously at times against United but wins my vote. Two great wins, two great matches and a very successful period for Forest."

He did make a few great saves in the Utd match but "lived dangerously" is a bit of an understatement as my poor heart can attest.

Love this 'Team of The Week' looks good with our crest making up the spine of the team. But Garth Crooks is still a tool, all day long.

To be fair, I've seen the Flying Wallendas. They're an high wire act that don't use a safety net. Moments of their show gave me similar palpitations. In 2022, two of them died in a fall.

I vividly remember watching the news as a kid ( back in the 70’s) and an old boy got stuck on the middle of the high wire as a massive gust of wind persisted and he couldn’t fight it and fell to his death. They didn’t show anything graphic but just the moment he lost his footing. It stayed with me for years!

Between two hotels? 1978? That's the original Karl Wallenda.

I've not watched any other Premier League games over that period, but have come to the conclusion that every other Keeper must have had a nightmare week.

Garth Crooks is the best what he does, he's in his own lane, noone can beat him... when it comes to awful footballing opinions,

I genuinely look forward to his TOTW to give me a chuckle on Monday mornings,

If you score and win, you're probably in,

He's always been that way - I remember constantly disagreeing with his analysis when he was on football focus and wondering how on earth he could have got to that opinion.

I ultimately came to the opinion that he was either a cleverly disguised idiot (he speaks well) or a contratrian who gains his attention/progress by deliberately looking for the opposite line.

(I'd guess the latter as it's kept him in quite a long career, although that's standard for the beeb).

I went to a conference in Rome about 10 years and there was also a UEFA conference at the same hotel.

At one point I found myself sitting next to Garth on a sofa in the hotel - he was so small and unbelievably round that it was really difficult to believe that he'd ever been a footballer.

As you were.
