The Demise of Birmingham City

I'd say a swerve into punditry would be his best move now but the bloke can hardly speak English.

If he wants to keep up the pretence of being a manager, he should go League 1/2 now and actually learn the role first.

Or spend his spare time and huge amount of £££££ on grannies?

I agree with the managerial comment-good players don’t necessarily become good managers.
Bobby Charlton is perhaps the best example I can think of.

Some football players, great, good, or just OK, just fail to realize that they're only good at playing football. I remember a former striker of ours, who made a mess out of every football job he tried after retirement (scouting, youth development, women's team manager, football pundit). The last time I saw him he was refereeing an amateur children league where my son was playing; he (the player, not my son...) was blatantly drunk on a Sunday morning (he obviously went to work right from his Saturday night clubbing).

I didn't know that Rob Jones had played for Olympiakos, at least the drinking explains things a bit more!

"We'd like to Thank Wayne for the contribution that he made even though his time was limited, its not often that someone can make such a huge impact in such a short time but he did. His absolute commitment to the cause was unmatched and he changed our fortunes for the better, for that we will never forget him".

(Joint statement from the managers of Wetherspoons and Greggs).

When it comes to Football Management, it’s all a bit, She’s Just Not That In To You for Wayne.

Maybe he should stick to advertising hair transplants, or doing matchday hospitality at Man United, he could hardly make a bigger mess there.

I had no idea Oliver Burke played for them. Bloody hell he gets around doesn't he? What's he doing, that 92 grounds challenge?
He's behind those two little lads, though they were doing it to raise money because one of them had leukaemia...

But then Oli has been doing Euro grounds in his tour not just the English ones.

That's surely one of the worst managerial reigns ever in the history of football?! He is not a manager. Birmingham are a real sh*t show of a club. Similar to us under Fawaz when he sacked O'Driscoll and bought in McLeish.

First of all, I don’t think Rooney should ever be a manager or a first team coach because he’s unable to not sound thick regardless of whether he is or he isn’t.

But for his sake, if he wants to be a manager then he’s going to need to tag along with some other failure and learn the trade. Lampard, Gerrard etc. Not that he’ll learn much, but he’s got to learn the basics of communication first.

A manager to succeed requires:
1 A deep understanding of statistical analysis of indivdual performance, understanding graphs, trend analysis etc;
2 A deep understanding of personality trais and nuances to adapt ones approach to individual needs;
3 A good understanding of footballing tactics and techniques;
4 A good understanding of psychology;
5 A well develope ability to recruit and manage a group of trusted coaches to get your message across;
6 A well developed communication style to ensure everyone involved understands what your strategic approach to the season is;
7 An intelligent and articulate confidence to deal with the media;

There must be more, but as Wayne doesn't demonstrate competence in any of those 7 I fear he will never be a manager.

Unfortunately many team owners think the list is:-
1. Successful former player.

That'll be he last full managerial job

Any manager that gets appointed and sacked in the same season is done for at the top level

Can see him being assistant somewhere but never the main man again

"However, time is the most precious commodity a manager requires and I do not believe 13 weeks was sufficient to oversee the changes that were needed"

The team were in the playoff places when you took over, Wayne! How many bloody changes do you think were needed?!!
