Played his role to absolute perfection tonight. Win ball. Keep ball. Leading by example.

We should all be so proud of this fella. The entire Man Utd squad combined didn’t show as much passion and determination as Yates did today.

That late lung-busting drive forward to set up the winner summed it all up really

If his name was Yateso instead of Yateseh he would have that Premier League technician respect that he deserves.

He played the Mangala role (who has been our best CM thus far) to perfection recieving the ball from the defence and was critical to that win as he started the moves for our 2 goals. We got the added Yates determination and shithousery which is a joy to watch, he is our smartest player when he goes down for treatment when the pressure is on and getting those touch in the back fouls.

Stop telling us he can't pass it forward.

Could I make a request to have @Raymondo Ponte' sponsor this thread. I think it's the very least he deserves.
Even during our darkest days, Ray has championed Ryan all the way, never gave up on the lad.

I told all my mates Yates would be a premier league player in the MON days

I also once said Lansbury would be too though!

I'm suprised Yates was only fouled 4 times, felt a lot more!

A cracking and old school engine room performance last night.
Its a good sign when a player receives the ball in a tight spot and it doesn't cause you panic and that side of his game, along with many others, has come on in leaps and bounds.
Lovely to see he's worked constantly on his game and not faded away in a difficult to establish position like the likes of Thornhill, Grant etc who were probably at the same level Yates was when they initially came in.
