Is this a joke?
Mgw needs moving further back not further forward.
He's an attacking midfielder not a striker and he shouldn't be playing up front with anyone never mind as the lone striker.
He's my favourite player but he's never been a striker since school.
School and a one in two game striker for sheff u in the champ.

This game will tell a lot about the player's mentality re. Cooper, will they rally for him with a good performance or just go through the motions.

I think it's the players who are letting cooper down not the other way round.
There's obviously more than 1 in the team who is more of an individual than a team player.
If they can be removed things might improve drastically

I am going to be controversial here!
The Greek Dracula, and the American Nervous Nelly are not good enough: both are liabilities.
I would go with:

----------------Hennessey------------
Aina Felipe Murillo Niakhate Toffolo
------------Yates (Capt)--------------
-----Mangala --------Dominguez--
---------------Danilo
-------------------Origi--------------
Logic:
1 Hennessey despite some abberrant moments, has acquitted himself mostly quite well - certainly better than the Greek flapper, and Nervous Nelly;
2 I did think about playing Williams instead of toffolo, but it seems wrong to drop toffolo who is arguably our most consistent performer at left back;
3 I don't believe Sangare has recovered from the virus sufficiently to play a game so soon after the Everton game, and Yates gives everything plus he is "one of our own";
4 Dominguez has the box to box engine: surely he has done his pennance for the awful mistake against Wet Sham;
5 Danilo (if fit) needs to be on the pitch if he is going to regain the great form at the back end of last season, and MGW is currently not firing on all cyclinders (and hasn't been all season);
5 Origi... if Wood is picked again, i will put my boot through the telly!
6 Bench: Turner, Worrall, Williams, Hudson-Odoi, Elanga, Montiel, Aurier, Osong, Aguilera

So, Sangare and MGW not even on the bench because of illness and form respectively - both need rests!
Forest to win 2-0.
Perhaps a good idea to order the tv already to arrive on Weds afternoon.....

He's still not a striker though is he?
As I said he's an attacking midfielder and he is better off supplying the ammo instead of being the trigger man.
Look at his finishing it's obvious.
I think putting the ball in the net is his biggest weakness so he can't be a striker

While I agree with his best position (CAM) right now I'd be playing him in the falsey role with Elanga and Hudson Odoi running off him. I also believe his instinctive finishing is far better than when he has time to pick a spot.

It's needs must for me until we can move in the market, and Wood's body won't handle three games in a week.

It is definitely an option but because of his lack of finishing I think I would rather give him a rest but to be fair there aren't that many other options so it might be time for him to step up and put a few in the net.

It's all I've got for solving our attacking problems! Can't imagine the ball will stick if we go long, but if we can play through the lines better it's something... and if you look at his close range finishing for Sheff U it's decent (which I why I think he's better on instinct).

Have been thinking about this. I wonder with Cooper's history of doing well with the youngsters who are more impressionable and keen to learn, whether the current crop of say more established players/internationals don't take much notice or worse think much of what he's telling them.

Either way basics like being able to pass to a fellow teammate and offer yourself as an option for the person in possession should be a non negotiable for a professional footballer.

We have to find a way of pressing higher up the pitch if we play with no focal point/ traditional no9. Dominguez needs to come back in the side and wood needs to drop out. Id like to see us go 3 at the back and bring aina back in for one of either aurier or toffolo. Felipe boly and Murillo as the back 3

I'm in the bad day all round camp for sat - we've been as bad as that maybe once this season v Burnley in the cup when we made loads of changes, but think class Sat as an odd one out for some disappointing results in competitive matches.

Confidence won't be helping anyone either. I back Steve to put it right...

I know sometimes you need to roll the dice and I want him to be a striker as much as anyone but he's not . He's got far more use to the team anywhere but not on his own up front

Can anyone remember the 1975 FA Cup 4th Round epic with Fulham (just after Brian Clough
had joined)?

1st game-postponed
Fulham 0 Forest 0
Replay-Forest 1 Fulham 1
2nd Replay Fulham 1 Forest 1
3rd Replay Forest 1 Fulham 2

Fulham went on to beat Everton at Goodison next and eventually reach the final whilst our
reward was a 2nd Division trip to York City on a Friday night.

I’d settle for a 0-0 on Wednesday.
Yes, I was there for the two home games. I think Viv Busby scored the winner for Fulham and in one of the games Paddy Greenwood broke a leg, which finished him as a Forest player. (A few years later I used to cycle past his greengrocer’s in Hull.)

Seeing as everyone else is picking a team I’ll throw mine out.

Turner

Aina
Murillo
Felipe if fit enough, Niakhate if not
Toff

Sangare
Donimguez
Mangala

CHO
MGW (False 9)
Elanga

Give it a good go and leave with our heads held high.
I'd go with this too.

Even if form is lacking, we should have some energy. Give MGW a distance travelled target, and tell the three lads in midfield that anyone not booked for a tackle gets dropped.

If Turner can't kick then set up to accommodate and have the defenders take more responsibility.

Went to the postponed game! No radio sports channels back then, even saw a Forest supporters coach turn off the M1 at Leicester but we just carried on. Went watch Chelsea v Birmingham instead. Birmingham won 1-0 thanks to a goal by their centre forward, a bloke called Kenny Burns.

Yes-we got to St.Pancras when a chalkboard advised us the game was off!
We went to see West Ham v Swindon instead.Ironically West Ham and Fulham reached the
final that year.

Definitely missed that dynamism that Dominguez brings so would get him straight back in the starting line up if fit for Yates. Try to get that midfield 3 ticking again.

Expecting Wood to do as good a holding the ball up job as Awoniyi does obviously isn't working but we don't seem to be able to find another role for him.

Snatch your hand off if offered a point here.

Ah, those memories of the days when you could, on the spur of the moment, decide to go to a match and just turn up at the turnstiles. Rather than plan for months, join a secret society in order to qualify for the hope of getting a ticket, then, when you get that sacred ticket, you find the day and time has been changed and you can't go.

Life is tough these days.

If you can stomach paying £100 for a seat (well actually, an 'armchair'), you can still get a ticket amongst the home fans, adjacent to the Forest fans.

You have got to give the marketing team full marks they have turned football into showbiz and hyped it up beyond belief.
Grounds used to be empty now there's a waiting list for tickets

I would go with a back 3, 2 wingbacks and get some crosses into Wood as his last chance
For me
turner
Aurier Worral Felipe Niakhate Aina
Yates Mangala Kouyate Elanga
Woods

We can start to play football later we need to stop the flow of goals

Despite Murillo"s brilliance we havent done well with him in the side

I don't think we can afford to have Sangare in the team at the moment and i'd be really interested to see how this team does without MGW giving the ball away every other time he touches the ball. I'd keep Murillo in the side over Niakhate but that team at least has some fight in it..

I kind of agree on Sangaré, but I also couldn't put Kouyaté in his place :ROFLMAO:
